MEMORIAL CANDLES: As you have noticed there are two memorial candle stands at the front of thechurch. People are wondering what an appropriate amount would be to light these candles. It iscompletely a donation on your part. These are meant as a memorial to your loved ones, so whateveryou feel in your heart to donate would be appreciated. If a specific amount is expected, perhaps$1/candle is appropriate.

The 21 Recommendations issued by the Special Joint Committee of the Government of Canada on“Physician-Assisted Dying” were released Feb. 25. You are urged to contact your elected MPs, thePrime Minister, and the Ministers of Justice and of Health to express profound concern aboutrecommendations that include:

- Making assisted suicide available to those with psychiatric conditions

- Requiring all publicly-funded health care institutions in Canada to provide assisted suicide(including faith-based hospitals and care homes.)
