June and I had a wonderful me becoming reacquainted with the sport, while observing your very experienced staff guide our son through his open-water cerficaon. As you know, June and I have been open-water cerfied for many years, but have not had the opportunity to dive for a while, several years. In preparaon for our up-coming trip to the Caribbean, we decided to have our youngest son Colten cerfied, which also gave us the oppor- tunity to take your refresher course to brush up on our rusty skills. Our experience could not have been beer. I was very impressed with you and your staff’s ability to instruct on many levels, and from different approaches. There was a wide range of ages, and ability levels in the class, which required the material to be delivered from different angles, perspecve, and paence. They were also very aenve, and eager to answer or address any quesons or concerns. Do to the harsher condion normally associated Lake diving, the experience can be inmidang and at some mes overwhelm- ing. Your staff’s experience, knowledge, and over-the-top passion for the sport handled these challenges without pause. The accommodaons were very clean, organized, and with the lake only steps away, the views were spectacular. Food and beverages were nev- er ending, which may have added to my need for a lile less in my weight belt by the end of the weekend. Another temptaon that may have reduced my need for ballast was your wife’s lasagna. OMG was that meal good! All in all, a great 1 st impression of your dive shop and staff. We are look- ing forward to many more diving experience with you and your group, including our Advanced and Rescue Dive course. Thank you again for a great experience and please convey our appreciaon and gratude to your staff. Best regards, Don ADVANCED OPEN WATER COURSE The Advanced Open Water Diver Course (AOW) is the next step in learning advanced skills directly applicable to scuba diving. Frequently, an AOW card is just the ticket to diving at a variety of more sites. For example, we know of several places in the Philippines, Malaysia, Australia, and some wreck sites in Florida who will not let you dive at certain, more advanced sites, unless you have the AOW or above certification. The reason is that the operators don't want to risk putting OW di- vers into certain advanced level dive conditions such as cur- rents or deep, blue water, environments. They know that PADI AOW certified divers have the skills and experience necessary for such sites. There are a total of 5 dives necessary to complete the course. The required 2 Core dives are Deep and Underwater Naviga- tion. You can choose the remaining 3 Adventure Dives. This course is for newly certified divers as well as divers with more experience who wish to expand their knowledge and practical skills. Also, if you don't have enough time to complete the full AOW course, the Adventure Diver rating is awarded after com- pletion after any 3 Adventure Dives. Why should you take the Advanced Open Water Course? Open Water Divers have learned the basics, the "how" of div- ing. After a few dives, there is a need to expand that dive knowledge and learn practical skills which can increase your enjoyment of diving. Ever surface far away from the boat and have a long surface swim back? With the Navigation dive, you will learn how to prevent that situation, using compass as well as natural navigational aids to assist in your underwater jour- ney. For deep diving, there are special concerns, and as an Open Water Diver, you are certified to dive 18 meters/60 feet. After completing the AOW course, that level is extended to 30 meters/100 feet. If you really want to advance your skills and be more comforta- ble in the water, taking this course is the way to do it. We have openings for the MAY 8-10 Beaver lake trip. Give us a call and schedule your course today! About Scuba Pro MK17/ G260 Regulator The Mk17 First Stage Regulator is the perfect choice for the recreaonal diver who wants the advantage of a diaphragm first stage for use in temperate waters. Diaphragm-based first stages are environmentally sealed so that water cannot enter the inner mechanism. The Mk 17 also incorporates a Dry ambient pressure chamber, providing beer perfor- mance in cold water than any other diaphragm regulator. Bearing in mind that regulators generate temperatures as low as minus 22°F (-5.5 ° C) due to the incredibly fast moving air and the pressure drop involved, it is imperave that sensive moving metal parts avoid contact with extremely cold water or debris. Therefore, diaphragm first stages have been the favored choice of cold-water divers and those working in con- taminated or muddy water. SCUBAPRO diaphragm first stages feature balanced technology and are packed with patented features resulng in ultra fast flow to the second stage on demand and a fantasc overall performance. Addionally, its over-balanced diaphragm first stage de- sign gives you beer breathing performance at greater depths. First- Stage Regulator is equipped with two HP and four LP Ports. Two of the LP Ports are High Flow Ports (HFP) for easier breathing on demanding dives. The G260 is a new Balanced Adjustable Second Stage featuring Metal Components for Excellent Cold Water Resistance (inlet tube, orifice, inhalaon control knob and hose connector). Its High Performance makes it a choice for all Demanding Divers and it will be the natural choice for G250 fans.
