It has been a very busy month of February, with report cards, interviews and Lunar
New Year Celebrations, we are reminded of how grateful we are to be in a wonderful,
nurturing school. Thank you to our community for persevering during our health
“outbreak” of suspected norovirus. Our student absences have returned to normal.
In March we are looking forward to our major fundraiser for the school year. March 4
is our Kick-off Assembly and March 10 will be our Beach Day (note this date is
changed from the original calendar). Read on to find out more details.
An assembly is planned to recognize Nowruz, the Persian New Year, at McKee Public
School on Wednesday March 23, from 1:00 to 1:30. As always, parents are welcome
to attend.
بدین وسیله از والدین محترم دانش آموزان دعوت به عمل می آید که در جشن نوروز در روز
در مدرسه مکی حضور به هم رسانند. 1:30الی 1:00مارچ از ساعت 23پنجشنبه مورخ
Again this year, we will be providing vision and hearing clinics at McKee. This is a won-
derful service to your children during the school day. You may know that the cost of an
annual eye exam with an optometrist in the community is free and covered by the
Ministry of Health with your health card. The Toronto Foundation for Student Success
will be running cost-recovery clinics at McKee again this year on Wednesday, March
23.
Photographers from Edge Imaging will be at the school on Tuesday, March 22 to take
graduation photos for our Senior Kindergarten students and our grade 5 students. An
order form will be coming home shortly.
Thank you to our School Council who continue to fund our Prologue Theatre school-
based productions. On Wednesday, February 4 students were treated to an engaging
production of The Three Musketeers.
We would like wish our families a happy and safe March Break as our school will be
closed from March 14 to 18.

Character Education
On Thursday, February 11th, we enjoyed an excit-
ing Assembly to celebrate Lunar New Year, with
performances by our grade 1 students and grade
4 students as well as talented musicians and a
dancer from Earl Haig. Look for some neat pic-
tures on the next page of the newsletter. During
our afternoon assembly, we acknowledged our
McKee Bee recipients for the month of February
where we celebrated the character trait of Fair-
ness. The Kindergarten, grade 2, and grade 4 re-
cipients are in our photograph.
Throughout the month of March, we will be focus-
ing our attention on the character trait of Honesty.
Monday, March 7 Sports Day / Red and White
Tuesday, March 8 PJ / Stuffed Animal Day
Wednesday, March 9 Crazy Hair / Hat day
Thursday, March 10 Beach day… Dance a thon! Friday, March 11 Twin Day
The Changemakers at McKee worked
really hard to get gloves and hats do-
nated for the homeless. As we all
know, winters in Canada can be very
cold and now The Canadian Red
Cross has about 6 bags of donations
to share with people on the streets.
Thank you to all the families and the
community who helped us with our
winter project. Please see the thank
you letter from The Canadian Red
Cross on Page 6 of this newsletter.
Junior Choir will be cancelled on
Wednesday, March 9th due to the
Grade 5 field trip to the EOEC. McKee is on Twitter!

@McKeeSchool Lost and Found items will be put out on tables in the hallway for the
next two weeks. We have a variety of items we would like returned
back to their owners. Please come and take a look. Unclaimed items
will be donated during March Break.
