Living The Word of God:
We have considered together the call of Pope Francis to embrace fully the meaning of our Baptism and to live consciously as disciples of Jesus Christ. This means hearing the Word of God and practicing it. As we move forward in response to this invitation of the Holy Father, it would be important to consider this one simple but urgent question: "Whose word do I, in fact, hear and follow?" (Archbishop Smith)
Sunday Reflections: “Is the LORD in our midst or not?” (Exodus 17:7). The Chosen People asked each other this question during their difficult journey through the barren desert, but one could imag-ine many of us asking the same question here and now. Whether considering the state of the world or our own personal situation, we may ask ourselves, “Where is God? Has God abandoned us?” The Samaritan woman was undoubtedly perplexed when a strange man spoke to her at the well. But after he revealed himself, she asked herself and her neighbors if the Messiah was possibly in their midst. Here she was, a Samaritan, a woman, living in a situation known to be sinful, yet she became the means through which his identity was spread. Within two days, the people of the town came to believe that indeed the Messiah, the Christ, the savior of the world, was in their midst. Here and now, we are assured that Jesus is in our midst as well when we gather together in his name, when we share the Eu-charistic meal, and when we go forth to carry on his mission.
When do you feel abandoned by God?
What helps convince you otherwise?

DID YOU KNOW...St. Patrick, patron saint of Ireland, is believed to have been born in Scotland around 375 AD to Roman parents. He was kidnapped and sold into slavery in Ireland to tend sheep. During his 6 year captivity, he learned their language. God came to him in a dream and told him to leave Ireland for Britain on a ship. He met up with his parents in Wales then later travelled to France. He became a Priest then a Bishop. In another dream God asked him to convert the Irish people to Christianity. He did this for 40 years and is believed to have died on March 17.

Serve supports: - St. Joseph Seminary - St. Joseph’s College (U of A) - Newman Theologi-
cal College - Needs of the Church in Canada - St. Joseph Priests’ Foundation of Edmonton To-
gether, let our gifts bring many blessings to others. Let us enable the work of these charities supported by Together We Serve to bring the Gospel to our
world. Together we can make a difference as Together We Serve.
RCIA Leaders Required!
Be the light for others! RCIA for Adults can
not run in 2020/21 unless we get leaders to
step-up and volunteer (because the Eileens
are retiring as of Pentecost)? Taking on this
mighty task comes with so many resources,
including training, ongoing support from
past leaders, formal programs readily
available at the Archdiocese and support of the parish office.
If 2020 was the year you wanted to change something BIG,
this is your chance to BE NOT AFRAID. We invite anyone who
is interested in being part of this faith-sharing ministry to
join us on Monday evenings for the remainder of the year
for on the job training. RCIA for Adults meets in the Confer-
ence Room from 7 - 9 pm on Mondays. Call Eileen Stewart
at (780) 476-3315 to inquire.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Preventive Measures in Place
The Archdiocese of Edmonton continues to consult health offi-
cials to monitor the local situation regarding active cases of
the coronavirus (COVID-19). At this time, Archbishop Smith is
requesting that all parishes implement the following measures
on a temporary basis:
At the Sign of Peace, refrain from shaking hands – a simple
bow, nod, or “Peace be with you” to your neighbour is
appropriate.
All holy water fonts are to remain empty.
The Precious Blood is not to be distributed from the
chalice.
Experts in public health have advised that there is no greater
risk of infection in receiving the host on the tongue than there
is in receiving in the hand. Communicants are free to receive
either way. However, for people’s greater peace of mind,
priests will offer a dedicated line for communicants who pre-
fer to receive on the tongue.
Please also continue to practice healthy hygiene – wash your
hands with soap or use hand sanitizer regularly, remain home
if you are sick, sneeze/cough into your sleeve, and avoid
touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Let us continue to care for
ourselves and one another as we pray for all those affected
worldwide by COVID-19.
Take note: St. Vincent de Paul does not except clothing. We
collect food in the white bin at the North entrance to the
Church. They are in desperate need of bus tickets. Please put
these in an envelope marked St. Vincent de Paul and drop
them in the collection. Thankyou for your generosity!
