Management MSc /

The MSc Management at UCL is a highlycompetitive international programme. It providesstudents with a solid understanding of practicalmanagerial issues coupled with a strong foundationin current theoretical debates. It consists of tworoutes: one for students from business disciplinesand one for those from other disciplines.

 Degree summary 

If you are allocated to Route A, you will acquire a solid foundation inmanagement that will add value to your existing academic background.If you are allocated to Route B, you will have the opportunity tospecialise in either the Finance or Corporate pathway. Both routesenable students to become leaders in their fields.

The programme is delivered through a combination of lectures,seminars, and class discussion based on case studies. Studentperformance is assessed through simulations, presentations,coursework, group projects, class participation, and examinations.

 Degree structure 

Mode: Full-time: 1 year; Part-time: 2 years

Location: London, Canary Wharf

Students undertake modules to the value of 180 credits. The programmeconsists of core and optional modules (120 credits in total) and aBusiness Research project (60 credits). We offer two routes: Route A forstudents new to the subject or those who have studied business withoutfinance and accounting; Route B for graduates of business andmanagement (including finance and accounting).

BUSINESS RESEARCH PROJECT

// All students investigate a business issue in a global or local context, writing either adissertation, a professional literature review, or a business plan. Some students alsochoose to work with a company and develop a research project which culminates in aconsultancy report.

* Careers data is taken from the ‘Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education’ survey undertaken by HESA looking at the destinations of UK and EU students in the 2013–2015graduating cohorts six months after graduation.

 Your career 

The programme is designed to enhance career prospects through theadvanced study of business and organisations, and draws on theknowledge and skills gained from a first degree. It envisages educatinggraduates who can make an early and substantial contribution to theirfuture employer. Graduates have secured jobs in a variety of leadingcompanies including Barclays, Deloitte, Goldman Sachs, Google, PwC,and Unilever.

Employability

Students benefit from career training as soon as they arrive at UCL andthroughout the duration of their studies. This, together with the rigorousacademic training, can lead to jobs in top international companies andbanks around the world.

 Entry requirements 

A minimum of an upper second-class Bachelor's degree from a UKuniversity or an overseas qualification of an equivalent standard, in anysubject. Taking a GMAT or GRE test is not compulsory but if you havealready taken a GMAT or GRE test then please include this in yourapplication.

English language proficiency level

If your education has not been conducted in the English language, youwill be expected to demonstrate evidence of an adequate level ofEnglish proficiency.

The level of English language proficiency for this programme is: Good.

 Your application 

Students are advised to apply as early as possible due to competitionfor places. Those applying for scholarship funding (particularly overseasapplicants) should take note of application deadlines.

We are looking for applicants who have clear career plans and giveevidence of having taken steps to pursue them. You should also be ableto demonstrate an understanding of how the programme will contributeto your career goals including the industry or function you are interestedin. Additionally, we look for evidence of excellent written and oralcommunication skills and a high level of activity and success inextracurricular activities, including international exposure and foreignlanguages.

Application fee: There is an application processing fee for thisprogramme of £125 for online applications and £150 for paperapplications. More details about the application fee can be found atwww.ucl.ac.uk/prospective-students/graduate/taught/application.

All full time students are required to pay a fee deposit of £2,000 forthis programme. All part-time students are required to pay a feedeposit of £1,000.
