COMPREHENSIVE MANAGEMENT

In many instances, IT is faced with “fix and implement” without much of an underlying plan. The design of an environment that is cobbled together comes from many short term decisions. This may work when an environment is small, but as the environment grows this becomes increasingly difficult to manage, upgrade or add new applications.

What is System Center?

Configuration Manager is a systems management software suite that enables IT to remotelyadminister software deployment, settings management, and asset management tasks ofservers, desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.

Configuration Manager brings the ability to:

• Consolidate software for desktop and security management

• Provide improved end-user experience via employee self-service features

• Improve management system performance and scalability

• Deploy Packages (applications, configuration changes, patches, updates, and more) with an automated engine

• Migrate your Operating Systems and retain endpoint data

• Manage Windows, Mac, Mobile, UNIX, Linux and more

Operations Manager is software that helps youmonitor services, devices, and operations for many computers from a single console. Operations Manager brings the ability to:

• Discover and monitor network routers and switches, including the network interfaces and ports on those devices and the virtual LAN (VLAN) that they participate in

• monitor Internet Information Services (IIS)-hosted .NET applications from server-and-client-side perspectives to get details about application performance and reliability that can help you pinpoint root causes of incidents

• Provide alert broadcasts via SMTP Channel (Email), SMS Test Messaging, IM via MS Lync

Service Manager provides an integrated platform forautomating and adapting your organization’s IT servicemanagement best practices, such as those found in Microsoft Operations Framework (MOF) and Information TechnologyInfrastructure Library (ITIL). It provides built-in processes forincident and problem resolution, change control, and asset lifecycle management.

• Integrated Ticketing System• Integrated Change Management (ITIL v3 based)• Multiple Self-Service Portal, Reporting and Self-Service Options

Data Protection Manager (DPM) enablesdisk-based and tape-based data protection and recovery for servers such as SQL Server, Exchange Server, SharePoint, virtual servers, file servers, and support for Windows desktops and laptops. DPM can also centrally manage system state and Bare Metal Recovery (BMR).

• Centralized management of multiple DPM servers—Remote Management of DPM Servers• Certificate based authentication for computers in Work groups or untrusted domains• Optimized item-level recovery for SharePoint farms• Improved usage of tapes through protection group sets

Virtual Machine Manager (VMM) is a managementsolution for the virtualized datacenter, enabling you to configure and manage your virtualization host, networking, and storage resources in order to create and deploy virtual machines and services to private clouds.

• Manage multiple hypervisors—HyperV, VMware, Xen Server

• Dynamic Optimization—Cluster level workload balancing scheme to optimize for VM performance

• Bare Metal Deployment—Discover bare metal machines and bring them to a fully provisioned state with Hyper-V enabled under VMM management

Orchestrator. Orchestrator is a workflow management solution for the data center. Orchestrator lets you automate the creation, monitoring, and deployment of resources in yourenvironment.

• Numerous 3rd Party Integration Sets—OOB

• Easy wizard-driven approach to building integrations with data center tools that provide a command-line interface

Do I have to install all of the SystemCenter components? Not at all. Managed Solution Architects can design a solution that uses only the systems that are the best fit for your environment.

I have a significant number of off-premise systems (Remote workforce, Traveling Sales, Executitives). Can Isupport them as well? YES! System Center Configuration Manager, Operations Manager, and Data Protection Manager are specificallydesigned to leverage security certificates forauthentication across the internet.

I don’t want to have to add to my server count—what can you do? The System Center suite’s servers may ALL be virtualized. We can work with you to design a management solution that leverages several factors including Cloud based servers, Remote Management andAdministration, and/or Co-Located servers to suit your individual environmental and enterprise needs

We like the features, but we don’t want to add to our headcount (or payroll) for a Service Center Administrator. This is an issue we have heard many times before. Managed Solution offers remote management of environments to include end-to-end management of endpoints, servers and mobile devices.

Can I just buy (Configuration Manager,Operations Manager, VMM) seperatly? The System Center 2012 Server Managementcomponents are part of an integrated offering to create and manage private cloud environments and are available only as part of System Center 2012 Standard and System Center Datacenter MLs

What about Endpoint Protection? Is there an additional license cost for this? If you own the client licenses for ConfigurationManager, the licenses for Endpoint Protection Manager are included

What about service releases, upgrades, expansion? Managed Solution’s System center implementations take into consideration the need for expansion of your business. Each solution is scaleable to tens of thousands of endpoints.
