“We always put fresh Tas-manian scallops on the menuwhenever we can, and often weare able to offer fresh abalone,which is very popular withboth locals and tourists alike.”

Becoming a foster carer can beseen as challenging but Christine

finds it a vastly rewarding experience.“For me, it’s all about the children I

support. Seeing their smiles and theircontentment while in my care is areward itself,” she said.

“Each child has their own mile-stones that they reach and everysmall achievement is a great successfor them. Whether it’s learning to eatby themselves or developing theirhand-eye coordination, it’s fantasticto be part of.

“When they start to vocalise andcommunicate with me — each intheir own way — it’s a great feeling.”
