When Brett is not working or
showing horses, he also enjoys
baseball, hunting and motorcycles.
Brett currently attends Mineral Area
College with plans to transfer to
Southeast Missouri State University
in Cape Girardeau where he will
pursue a Bachelors' Degree in Edu-
cation. Brett also plans to continue
with his riding, training and
showing. He plans to move
forward showing at the Region-
al and National level as well as
working with the young foal
crop that he and his family are
breeding.
Congratulations Brett and good
luck with your future plans!
Its always a bittersweet
feeling to see our youth grow up
and move into adulthood. Its sad
to see them go and thrilling to see
the new paths that they take. This
spotlight is to recognize Brett
Rigdon as he moves on to the
Adult Amateur division of our in-
dustry and paves his own way as an
adult. Brett, the son of Chris
and Kiley Rigdon is officially
18 years old and has been rid-
ing since the age of 2. His
disciplines of choice are
Country Pleasure, Native Cos-
tume and Hunter Pleasure.
Brett has had great success
with several horses but some
of his favorites are CRR Ma-
maserati, SA Ikon, Comic
Strip, and RS Mysterious.

~Because of the versatility of our Arabian breed we would like
to recognize some of our members who are not just showing
in the Arabian world but are also venturing out with their
Arabian bred horses into open competition. Today we are
seeing more and more Arabian and Half Arabians going above
and beyond at recognized open events and doing very well!

CRESSANT HILL ARABIAN FARM NEWS: We wish to congratulate our daughter, La-rissa Smith, on all her many show wins thus far this 2016 show season on the beautiful Straight Egyptian Arabian mare, Alayla (Thee Desperado x Eskada Yasmine)! All of her hard work is paying off in their Hunter Seat, Western Pleasure, Ranch Horse and Halter classes; setting a great example of versatility of the Arabian breed! Way to go; we are so proud of you! (Pictured below)
The Lamplight Experience:
Thirteen year old Claire Nickelson attended the
USEF National Dressage Seat Equitation Finals in
August at the beautiful Lamplight Equestrian Center
in Wayne Ill. Claire qualified to attend the event in
2015 at the USDF Region 4 Championships with her
partner of 4 years, Tagg Yorr It, by winning the
Championship at the semi-final level. The top 2
competitors from each region are then invited to at-
tend the finals at Lamplight. Claire and Tagg fin-
ished 4th in a field of 11 finalists aged 13 & Under
from all USDF Regions across the US. Claire recalls
it being quite a thrill to take the victory lap with the
top competitors at this beautiful facility. The Equita-
tion finals were held in conjunction with the MAR-
KEL Young Horse Championships, the Festival of
Champions, the Brintina Cup and the USEF Pony
Finals providing an amazing opportunity to see ex-
quisite dressage competition. The opportunity to at-
tend this event was an honor Claire will never for-
get. While at the show, Claire and Tagg also gave
3rd level a try for the first time and earned the scores
needed to win the USDF Bronze Medal. Claire and
Tagg are coached by MAHA member Andy Amsden,
who was with her every step of the way during this
journey. (Picture top left)
At the Kirkwood show, a USDF open dressage show held in St. Louis August 20th - 21st, Sue Schultz’ 5 year old half Arabian gelding won his final points to achieve his Legion of Masters and Legion of Excel-lence achievement awards from AHA. He will now officially be M.M. American Pi++++//. Sue says that having bred Pi; raised him; and shown him, she is extremely proud of his achievements. As she should be! Congratulations Sue!
