Slide 3 163 acres of land Town surrounded by wall with 11 towers and 8 gates, leading to neighboring towns: Herculaneum, Nola, Nuceria and Stabiae, and into the harbor. Slide 4 Two main streets crossing the town: the Street of shops and Stabiae street. Many little streets divided the town into blocks: grid pattern. Stepping stones Slide 5 Shops and bars along streets. Symbols on the walls outside of shops indicate different streets and types of stores.
