Automatically adds a Free Gift to the cart based on standard Magento Shopping Cart rules.

Use Automatically Free Gift for

The Action will add the free product, make it free and also show the price in the shopping cart as zero - rather than in the shopping cart sub-totals.

The Extension can be combined with other rules.

Works as a native magento price rule.

Standard Magento rules can allow the trigger to be any standard catalog promotion Condition.

Installation

If you have purchased an extension from us and have been provided with a ZIP file

download with your purchase, this can either be installed via FTP (see instructions

below), or usually we will supply a Magento Connect version.

Go to

Click the link to download your Zip file

Go to your Magento Admin Panel & login to your Magento Connect Manager

This will launch the Magento Connect Manager. From here you install the

extension.

Under 'Direct package file upload' you can 'Upload package file', click the Choose File

button, select the extension .tgz file which will be within a folder called

'MagentoConnect_version'. Then click 'Upload'

Once you press upload, see the black screen at the foot of the page

Important last steps

Always ensure you clear your Magento Cache, then log out and back in, which will then ensure the extension installation scripts run.

Now visit your Shopping Cart Price Rules

You can setup Conditions if required

but most of our examples do not

require this, the main configuration

area is within the Actions tab.

Select the option 'Zero1-Auto Free

Gift'

To give the option of an Auto Free Gift set the following as -

•Discount Amount : 100

•Maximum Qty Discount is Applied To : 0

•Discount Qty Step (Buy X) : 0

How to restrict which products the promotion applies to

This is the important part of the Free Gift promotion

configuration and where the 'freebie' is added. Navigate

to the Actions tab at the left hand side.

The example below will restrict this promotion to add the

specific product specified as the Auto Free Gift. For this

example we are going to use SKU.

Restricting the Promotion to Products using Attributes

NB: You can use any attribute in Magento to restrict your promotion in the same way you would with standard

Magento rules. Just ensure that within Attributes > Manage Attributes, the attributes that you wish to use for

promotion rules, this tab is set to yes. Example below -
