THE CREATIVE ORIGIN OF MADE BY HAND IS EXEMPLIFIED

BY THE CLASSICAL ORIGINAL DANISH WORKSHOP LAMP

    FROM THE 1950S DESIGNED BY A. WEDEL-MADSEN.

IN STYLE, EXPRESSION AND FUNCTION, THE WORKSHOP

LAMP UNITES MODERN AND CONTEMPORARY DESIGN

    VALUES.

IN THE 1950S, THE WORKSHOP LAMP WAS USED TO PRO-

VIDE THE NECESSARY LIGHT FOR CRAFTSPEOPLE IN THE

WORKSHOP, - PASSIONATE AND VERY PROUD OF THEIR

DEEP UNDERSTANDING OF MATERIALS, TECHNIQUES, AND

    UTMOST ATTENTION TO DETAIL.

THE WORKSHOP LAMP HAS BEEN USED FOR GENERA-

TIONS IN PUBLIC AREAS, WORKSHOPS AND PRIVATE

HOMES ANYWHERE GREAT LIGHTING IS NEEDED. THE

SOLID AND INDUSTRIAL LOOK REPRESENTS IN MANY

WAYS URBAN AND MINIMALISTIC SCANDINAVIAN LIFE-

    STYLE DCOR.

MADE OF ALUMINIUM, THE WORKSHOP LAMP IS NOT

TOO HEAVY BUT STILL THE THICKNESS OF THE LAMP

SHADE, SOLID SOCKET AND WIRE CLOTH ARE ALL PART

OF THE CRAFTED QUALITY AND THE SELECTION OF DU-

RABLE MATERIALS THAT CREATE THE WORKSHOP LAMP.

WITH A WIDE SELECTION OF COLOURS FOR THE SHADE,

WIRE, AND VARIOUS SOCKETS IN STEEL AND PORCE-

LAIN AVAILABLE, THERE IS TERRIFIC OPPORTUNITY TO

MAKE A PERSONAL STATEMENT WITH THE WORKSHOP

LAMP WHETHER IN A PRIVATE SETTING OR IN MORE

    PUBLIC AND COMMERCIAL AREAS.

DANISH MODELMAKER WHO IN THE 1950S FOUND INSPIRA-

TION FROM EVERYDAY WORKLIFE TO DESIGN A WORKSHOP

LAMP. BACK THEN PEOPLE WERE USING DIFFERENT TYPES OF

IRON LAMPS IN SMALL WORKSHOPS, VERY HEAVY, BUT DU-

RABLE LIGHTS CAPABLE OF RESISTING MANY YEARS OF USE.

THE SHAPE OF THE WORKSHOP LAMP IS DESIGNED WITH A

FUNCTIONAL PURPOSE IN MIND PROVIDING THE BEST DIFFU-

SION OF DOWN-LIGHT MAKING IT AN EXCELLENT CHOICE OF

LIGHT FOR WORK OR SOCIAL SPACES IN THE HOME.

ORIGINALLY THE COLLECTION BEGAN WITH THE SIZES 28 AND

35 CM FOR SMALL WORKPLACES AND NOW THE COLLECTION

HAS BEEN EXTENDED WITH A SMALLER SIZE OF 18 CM AND A

LARGER SIZE OF 50 CM TO THE MODERN HOME. TODAY THE

COLLECTION IS MADE IN ALUMINIUM AND COPPER WHICH

BRINGS A NEW KIND OF AESTHETIC TO DAILY LIFE.

THE COLLECTION OF PORCELAIN LAMPS BY AWARD WINNING

DANISH DESIGNER ERIK MAGNUSSEN WERE ORIGINALLY MADE

FOR LOUIS POULSEN IN 1982 AND THEN REDESIGNED AND UP-

DATED BY THE DESIGNER IN 2005 AS THE PORCELIGHT COLLEC-

    TION.

THE PORCELIGHT FAMILY IS BASED ON A HAND-CRAFTED WHITE

PORCELAIN LAMPSHADE. THE PORCELAIN SHADE IS BEAUTI-

FUL WHEN TURNED OFF. WHEN THE LIGHT IS ON, IT RADIATES

A WARM AND GOLDEN GLOW THROUGH THE PORCELAIN. THE

PORCELAIN PENDANTS COME WITH A SELECTION OF HIGH

QUALITY WIRE CLOTH IN A VARIETY OF COLOURS.

THE DISCRETE AND MINIMALISTIC HIGH QUALITY DESIGN IS

CRAFTED BY HAND AND IS SCANDINAVIAN DESIGN IN ESSENCE.

IT CAN BE USED IN BOTH CONTEMPORARY AND CLASSICAL IN-

TERIORS FOR NUMEROUS APPLICATIONS, BOTH AT WORK AND

    IN THE HOME.
