What a talented bunch of students we have here at Maclean Public School. Under the direction of Mrs Moore, Ms Sanders and Mr Rosnell, the students put on an amazing show. The costumes were fabulous, a big thank you to Vanessa Mc Mahon and her sewing crew for making all of the costumes and also to the band members, Matt Fisher, Patrick Moore, Kate Moore and of course to the band leader Mrs Moore for providing awesome live music. Year 5 students will have the opportunity to stand for the four leadership positions for 2020. It is important that our school leaders, lead with pride and set the example for all of our student body. Students will deliver a speech on Friday November 22 at the whole school assembly, after which all of the students will vote. Parents and carers are very welcome to attend. Sport Just a reminder that all students in year 3 and 4 are swimming for sport on Thursday afternoons and students in year 5 and 6 on Friday afternoons, so students will need to bring swimmers and a towel and also money for entry if they do not have a season pass. Intensive Swimming Scheme The NSW Government operates a School Swimming and Water Safety Program which is an intensive learn to swim program which develops water confidence and provides students basic skills in water safety and survival. The scheme is conducted over ten days. Each lesson is 45 minutes. Students in year 2 and 3 will be participating in this program, beginning on November 18 until November 29. A permission note with further details will be sent home next Monday. Please note all students in year 2 and 3 are welcome to attend even if they can currently swim 25metres. Tell Them From Me survey Thank you to everyone that completed the Tell Them From Me Survey. If you are not the survey kind of person, but would like to have a chat and give us some feedback I am always available to meet with parents and family members so please feel free to drop by and see me. I seek and value suggestions and feedback to enable us to provide the best educational opportunities for your children. Headlice With the warmer weather we are currently having there has been a reported increase in head lice. Thanks for checking your child/childrens hair and treating if need be.
