Step 1- Load the C.D. provided by K2 and load the program on to your computer. Once you are done

opening and loading the program it is necessary to rebootyour computer immediately.

Step 2- Once your computer has been rebooted copy and paste the profile into the mach 2 folder hich

should be located on your C drive. !"f it as not done already. "f profile as on the Cd it should have putit into the mach folder for you. #he mach profile loo$s li$e this. "t ill be a %ml file.

Once you have your machine set up correctly you are ready to begin running it. irst step is to ma$e surethe Eeset button is not flashing& if it is flashing clic$ it to stop it. "f it does not stop flashing go bac$ anddouble chec$ the setting and chec$ the ;-stop and plugs. "f you have a servo model machine you ill needto hold the enable button don on the control bo% for about seconds to engage the motors. "f you havesteppers this is not necessary. t this point the motors should be engaged and you can verify this byattempting to turn the ballscre or leadscre by handF the motors should resist it.-0egin moving the machine by pressing the arro $eys and the page up and page don. #he page up anddon controls the 5 a%is. "f you are not satisfied ith the direction that the machine moves you maychange it by going to config-motor reversals and either chec$ing or unchec$ing a particular a%is.

Once you have moved your machine around and feel confident that everything is or$ing correctly thene%t thing e need to test is the homing. On thing to mention first& the space bar is a pause button and

;sc $ey is stop. :hen testing your machine alays be prepared to stop the machine in case of failure ormista$es. "t is easier to reset if you use the pause $ey& after pausing you ill have to clic$ stop beforerestarting. irst step is to go to the diagnostic screen the button is located in the loer right corner. #he 3-home& 4-home& and the 5-home buttons should all be gray& and as you press each sitch they should turn

yello. "f this is correct move on to referencing your machine. Start ith reference 3-Gote- $f the

machine is moving in the opposite direction than the micro switch %which isusually located on the side of the machine with the motors& pause the

machine' then press stop and go to config-homing- and either chec( orunchec( each ais to swap the direction it travels. )ormally you will home

On the right side of the main screen lies the og controls. #his picture illustrates theog controls and hat is normally should loo$ li$e. couple of things can be done from this screenF youcan change the steps in hich the machine ogs. t this moment it is set at 7.7177. 4ou can sitch fromcontinuous og or move at step og. #o sitch these you can clic$ og mode& or as a shortcut you can holdthe control button don and then push the arro $ey and it ill move in steps. 4ou can also control thespeed of the continuous og. #o do this you ould change the percentage of the og rate& and if you haveit at 27H and ant to og at 177H simply hold the shift $ey don hile ogging and it ill og at 177H.

#his is the controls panel. 4ou ill use this panel to load&play& pause& stop& and reind your code. 0elo is the coordinate panel. "n this panel you can vie&manage& and edit the machines coordinates. Currently the machine is set at origin. #o the right of eacha%is coordinate is a 5ero button for each a%is. :hen at the coordinate you ant to 5ero simply press the5ero button to 9ero your part. bove the 5ero button is the scale button. part at full dimension is at

t the bottom of the screen lies the screen tabs. ;ach tab represents a different screen available to use&primarily you ill use the 'rogram run button. !#he shortcut is lt-1I

#he g-code and m-code screens give you the g > m codes used by this machine. #his tutorial ill notcover the different screens you ill have to learn them for yourself.

folder and open it& then search for the file named scorpion and double clic$ it.

Step Two- (ove the tip of your bit to the appropriate position to 9ero all three a%is of your machine.

!Depending on ho your machine is set the 9ero position may vary& if you are standing in front of yourmachine it should be the front left corner at the top of your piece. ssuming that your bottom gantry is 4and the top gantry is 3.I

Once all three a%is are 9eroed you are ready to begin. " recommend raising your 5 by one inch and re-9eroit. #his ill allo us to air cut above the part in order to chec$ direction and dimensions of operation incomparison to your material.

Step - Go press 'lay !lays $eep your hand on the ;- stop or the pause button in case of error.I ifeverything loo$s right you should no loer the 5 to touch the bo% stoc$ and press 5ero 5. fter you 9erothe 5 raise it up and inch& turn on the spindle and press play. 'lease follo all safety suggestionsmentioned above.

Trouble Shooting Tips"-"f your machine is not responding to commands or hand ogging.
