Easter People,

He Is Risen!! He Is Risen Indeed!!! Alleluia!!!! Yes, that is the message, that

is the good news. Christ is risen from the depths of hell and redeemed you.

What a glorious thing. We now live into what that means as Christians in

the world today. We have been given a great gift, will we box it up and

keep it to ourselves? Do we tell only trusted friends and family? OR do we

burn from within and share this good news with the world?

The disciples on the road to Emmaus burn with in and the truth is finally revealed to them in the breaking of

the bread. When it is revealed to them they run 7 miles back to their friends to share the good news.

We can turn to the book of Acts to see what the first believers do after Christ is revealed to them. They

spend 40 days with Jesus, see him ascended into heaven, then wait. They wait for the Spirit, and when it

comes look out. 3,000 converts on Pentecost, 5,000 a few days later. They cannot help but share the good

news with anyone who will listen. The numbers grow and the message is spreads like wild fire. That was

2,000 plus years ago.

That same message is for us today. Will it call us to action? Will we share it with the world? With the peo-

ple of Prentice and Brantwood? How about all of Price county? Or will we just keep it to ourselves? The

ball is in our court, what will we do with it?

Easter Blessings,

Pastor Rick

You can make a joyful noise every Sunday by dropping your change in the silver buckets at church. All the

coins gathered during the month are given to the designated monthly cause. We can all help others one coin

at a time!! During May the noisy offerings gathered at First will be given to the FCA fund. Zion has chosen to

give all the change from April-May-June to the Je’Ann Johnson family. Remember to keep all these ministries

in your prayers during the month.

Hello all! My name is Quinlan Koch, and I’m so excited to have the opportunity to serve as Intern at Northwoods STaR Ministries. I wanted to give you all a chance to know me a little better. I was born and raised in Iowa. I grew up in Melbourne, a small town of about 800 people. I attended Iowa State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies and a minor in Sociology. I’m currently in my second year in the Master of Divinity program at Lu-ther Seminary, time could not be flying any quicker than it is. I enjoy playing with, walking with and just being with my furry companion Hans, a 10-month-old German Shepherd. When I’m not playing with my pup, I’m often enjoying board games with my room-mates and friends. Living up in the Twin Cities and the heartland of the Vikings has been difficult, because I’ve been a lifelong Green Bay Packers fan! Go Pack Go! I could not be more excited to be coming into parish ministry. There are so many opportunities to grow in the Spirit, and I’m looking forward to how the Spirit is working amongst all of you at Northwoods STaR Ministries!

Northwoods STaR Ministries Exciting things are happening as our four congregation cooperative ministry named-Northwoods STaR Ministries (STaR stands for Small Towns and Rural) move forward. The Parish Council is working toward our projected start date of July 1. ♦ Mark your calendars for the Joint Worship Service on Sunday, June 25 at the Lion’s Park in Prentice.

More details will be in the June newsletter. ♦ Pastor Rick and Pastor Bob will be installed in their “new positions” as pastors for the Northwoods STaR Ministries at the Joint Worship Service on June 25. ♦ An intern will be starting this fall for the Northwoods STaR Ministries. Quinlan Koch is excited to be

joining us, you can read his article below. ♦ The meeting minutes of the Parish Council are on the bulletin board at the back of the church. ♦ There will be congregational meetings at all four churches on June 4th. Purpose of the meetings: ELCA

revisions to the model constitutions for Congregations, vote to call Pastor Rick & Pastor Bob to be the pastors for Northwoods STaR Ministries, and approve the budget for the Northwoods

STaR Ministries.

Please remember to slow down and enjoy all God has given you,

your family, the warm weather, trees blooming, flowers growing

and most importantly another day of live!

We are giving you the opportunity to support area kids (grade 8-12) going to a FCA Sports Camp this summer. By donating $1.00(or more if you desire) you will be helping kids explore their faith and work on their skills at the sport of their choice. Please send all donations to First Lutheran Church, PO Box 177, Prentice, WI 54556

The theme of this year's Fellowship of Christian Athletes sports camp in Decorah Iowa is "The Power of One".

There is power in One Gospel. There is power in One Truth. And there is power in our One Great God who transforms hearts and brings victory in our lives. As Chris-tian coaches and athletes when we stand together with one passion, one power and one purpose, there is great impact!

Please consider becoming a teacher for our Wednes-

day aernoon CYF program for the 2017-2018 school

year.

Teachers are urgently needed !! Without teachers

we will not be able to offer this program to area kids.

Talk to Pastor Rick if you would like more informa-on

about the program or feel it is the right -me for you

to get more involved by teaching . No experience
