Once upon a time in an enchanted kingdom, a Prince of the Butterflies only thought of
enjoying himself.
One day, his father, the King told him: “It’s time you stop playing with your friends and start
becoming a little more serious”.
Then he adds: “Dear son, it’s time for you to explore the world in order to find the Tree of
Life”

“The Tree of Life?” says the Prince, amazed.
“Yes, the King of all trees.
Before you, all your ancestors, your great grandfather, your grandfather and I did this long
journey, too.
By finding it, you will prove that you can also be the King.
And when you come back, you will become the leader. I am an old man now… and I want to
have a good time too!”

“Me? The next King? But I can’t do it!” answers the Prince, a bit worried.
“You will be a good King but you don’t know it yet. This quest will open up your mind says
his father reassuringly.”
Surprised and confused, the Prince asks one more time: “But where is the Tree of Life?”
“You must go for it. Your heart will tell you when it comes to be the Right Tree. And at
once, you’ll know that deep in your heart… and at the same time, you will feel you are the
King”.
The Prince of the Butterflies understands he has no other option than to fly away after saying
goodbye to his friends and to his father.
He starts then to the unknown.
“The Tree of Life? The Tree of Life? I don’t even know what it looks like!”
“Am I really ready to become King?” he wonders.

Lost in his thoughts, he flies a long time, absent-mindedly. Finally, the traveller discovers a
very surprising landscape.
Never before, has he gone beyond the limits of the Kingdom. And what he sees, impresses
him and frightens him at the same time.
He only sees a forest of glass and concrete buildings, cold and flowerless.
“No trees here. That’s a bad start! I wonder whether I find it one day!”
“Let’s try another place.”

Later, far from this disturbing town, he reaches a river.
Some fishes hop out of the water.
He seizes this opportunity to ask a question to one of them: “Hey you! Do you know where
is the Tree of Life?”
“No, I don’t! Wait a moment I’m going to ask my friends!”
He comes back a moment later and says to the Prince: “Not here! There are only seaweeds in
our river.”
The Prince is disappointed and takes the road again. He heads to the sea.
