I interpret these lyrics to project ideas of independence and youth. Whilst it mentions ideas of a romantic partner, the message the song gives out is that this particular person isn’t important to the singer because they won’t allow themselves to become someone’s property, or the property of anything: ‘Don't belong to no city, don't belong to no man’. Within the concept of a video, I would take this to mean I would more than likely show the star alone but being content with this notion. Whilst a big part of the song does mention another person, I think not including them could suggest more of an independent mine than including them in techniques such as flashbacks.

The links to youth is broadcast in the casual mentions of substance taking and in the general sound of the song. The genre which I identified as dream pop is relatively new in terms of how well people are aware of genres, or sub-genres, so to use a song of this category we can only assume it’ll be a youthful song. ‘ I’m a wanderess’ gives me the impression of being young and able to travel without having connections to one particular place. In this instance, I will attempt to show youth in my video. My target audience is evidently young people so I hope I will be able to put this theme across successfully.

The clear link to weather – ‘And there's a storm you're starting now … I'm the violence in the pouring rain … I'm a hurricane’ – suggests that I should aim to include a nod to this in my video. I think the weather conditions included in the lyrics are more on the violent side, perhaps linking to more of a wild youth idea.
