The term community is about finding a sense of belonging, refuge, and trust in others. This literary center is a place where one can find such things. Located in the Clifton area of Cincinnati, Ohio, this facility creates an atmosphere where people of many different nationalities and race can come together and converse with their neighbors and friends, or simply relax and enjoy a good book. Thus, this literary ceter will provide a library, cafe, and even a lecture hall. This faciliry will also include a variety of exhibits, guest speakers, and lectures on an array of subjects.

Transformation and iteration was the key to succeeding in this assignment. Initially an individual assignment, students created, through several iterations, their proposal for a unit. From which we would then collaberate as a studio to decide the overall shape, materiality, and composition of the unit. The overall goal of the assignment was to create occupiable space through the units.

Creating space through viod was the focus of this project. I started with the dimensions of a 12x12 cube then studied ways, through line, plane, and mass to imply the mass of the cube.

Analyzing how color and light can affect a given space was the main ob-jective of this study. The goal was to find a pre-existing space where there was a substantial amount of natural light. We then, were in-structed to create a model of that space and study how different colors, when hit by natural light, affected the temperature, emotion and overall ambiance of the space.
