Don de Vie (Gift of Life) Pastel Pencil on Tinted Fabriano (55cm x 65cm)

My contribution towards organ donation awareness. One person can save 7 lives by donating the Heart, Pancreas, Liver, two Lungs and two Kidneys. The hands represents the organ donor and the lungs in his hands with the veins represents all the organs and serves as the "seeds" for the tree of life. Each branch represents one person waiting for a donor and the Blue Irises represents the hope there is for each of them through organ donation which is represented by the green ribbon. The swallow also represents hope and the butterflies symbolizes a new life. The arch symbolizes new beginnings.
