In 1792 he studied hard with other composers and musicians
Developed good relationships with composers
Lead to a yearly salary
In 1813 Beethoven develops and enhances his high classical style into a more individualistic style where he writes symphonies 3-8 and piano concerts 5 and a few other pieces.
Challenges
He was going deaf and eventually could not talk to people
Serious depression set in and he did not compose anything
He had major anger issues and was contemplating suicide
After some other personal issues he finally composed his 9th symphony
His Death
He died on March 26, 1827 from poverty and not being able to take care of him self.

First performance was terrible
Had to stop the music and start again
Was played again a year and a half later from first performance and received great reviews

One of the most recognizable pieces by Beethoven
Played in the inaugural concerts of the New York Philharmonic on 7 December 1842, and the National Symphony Orchestra on 2 November 1931.
Has had a large influence on composers and music critics, and inspired work by such composers as Brahms, Tchaikovsky, Bruckner, Mahler, and Hector Berlioz

Written in 1785 and first published in own literary journal
Premiered on 7 May 1824 in the Kärntnertor theater in Vienna

Performance was officially directed by Michael Umlauf and he told the orchestra to ignore the deaf beethoven.
First on-stage appearance in 12 years
Mixed reviews. Some thought it was bad, others thought it was great
