Physics (042)

Study and write these activities in Physics lab manual. These activities are common for all students.

Section – A

1. To assemble a household circuit comprising three bulbs, three (on/off) switches, a fuse and a

power source.

2. To study the variation in potential drop with length of a wire for a steady current.

3. To draw the diagram of a given open circuit comprising at least a battery, resistor / rheostat, key,

ammeter and voltmeter. Mark the components that are not connected in proper order and correct

the circuit and also the circuit diagram.

Section – B 1. Use of multimeter to see the unidirectional flow of current in case of a diode and an LED and check

whether a given electronic component (e.g., diode) is in working order.

2. To observe refraction and lateral deviation of a beam of light incident obliquely on a glass slab.

3. To obtain a lens combination with the specified focal length by using two lenses from the given set

of lenses.

Project

You can make Project file / PPT for this project. You have to do any one from these

two. After completion of project you have to make a video on that.

1. To find the refractive indices of (a) water (b) oil (transparent) using a plane mirror, an equi

convex lens (made from a glass of known refractive index) and an adjustable object needle.

OR 2. To investigate the relation between the ratio of (i) output and input voltage and (ii) number of

turns in the secondary coil and primary coil of a self-designed transformer.

Chemistry (043)

Students must have to prepare an investigatory project on the following given topics.

Inclusion of Art (Any forms of creativity, drawing, models etc.) will be appreciable.

Students should prepare their individual Project. Project should be in neat handwriting.

Any other investigatory project, which involves about 10 periods of work, can be chosen with the

approval of the teacher.

S.NO. NAME OF THEIR INVESTIGATORY PROJECT TOPIC

1. Study of the presence of oxalate ions in guava fruit at different stages of ripening.

2. Study of quantity of casein present in different samples of milk.

3. Preparation of soybean milk and its comparison with the natural milk with respect to curd formation, effect of temperature, etc.

4. Study of the effect of Potassium Bisulphate as food preservative under various conditions (temperature, 5concentration, time, etc.)

5. Study of digestion of starch by salivary amylase and effect of pH and temperature on it.

6. Comparative study of the rate of fermentation of following materials: wheat flour, gram flour, potato juice, carrot juice, etc.

7. Extraction of essential oils present in Saunf (aniseed), Ajwain (carum), Illaichi (cardamom).

8. Study of common food adulterants in fat, oil, butter, sugar, turmeric power, chilli powder and pepper.
