The short film

This short film is rooted on my love for skateboarding.

The idea started when I was working on this graphic project, as you can see from the illustrations below. The graphic project is a play on words with a simple comedy premise -skateboards making love- that seeded a question in my mind: How did these skateboards meet?

The answer to this question is the backbone to our story.

NY is a city of contrast, at times it may seem extremely raw and two seconds later, it may reveal the perfect spot for a love story.

With all its surprises, NY is the city of all cities. The best place there is to skate.

Andrew and Claudia are two of the thousands of skaters living in NYC. Their love for skating will be the catalyst for their encounter. After a small accident where the two skateboards crashed into each other. Leaving Claudia wondering when she would see Andrew again.

Two long days later they finally meet again, and everything makes it seem they’re going to hook up. But this is not a typical love story, because the ones that fall in love are their skateboards.

I’m Fernando Paz, a new father, husband, skater, and advertising creative director living in New York. I’m 36 years old and I’ve been skating since I was 15.

I’ve been a graphic designer for as long as I can recall, and shooting commercials for brands for more than 10 years.

Today I’m looking for start shooting my own stories.

We are planning to shoot 3 days.

The crew, actors and most of the post-production people are already secured.

$2,500 to rent equipment we are still missing, and to cater and transport the crew during production.

Also, to enter the film in different festivals (Eg. LA Skate Film Festival and The Skateboard Film Festival).
