A DOMINANT HALF: Dodger left-hander Adam Liberatore completed a historic first half last week by recording his 24 th consecutive scoreless appearance and establishing a Dodger franchise record previously held by John Candelaria (23, 1991). During the streak, which began on May 20, Liberatore has tossed 18.2 scoreless innings and limited opposing hitters to a .086 batting average (5-for-58) with a 0.59 WHIP and 23 strikeouts against just six walks. Overall, Liberatore leads Major League relievers with a 0.61 ERA (2 ER/29.1 IP), while ranking among the top relievers in opponents’ batting average (.153, 5 th ) and WHIP (0.85, T-9 th ). ODDS AND ENDS: During the break, the Dodgers outrighted outfielder Will Venable to Triple-A Oklahoma City, while infielder Cole Figueroa elected free agency after clearing outright waivers. SEAGER SMOOTH: Dodger rookie shortstop Corey Seager belted 15 home runs in the first round of the 2016 T-Mobile Home Run Derby, but fell short of Mark Trumbo’s 16 and was eliminated. Seager then went 0- for-1 and played 4.0 innings at shortstop Tuesday night for the National League in the 87 th Midsummer Classic at PETCO Park. Seager was just the eighth rookie to compete in the Derby, joining California’s Wally Joyner (1986), Oakland’s Jose Canseco (1986) and Mark McGwire (1987), the Dodgers’ Mike Piazza (1993) and Joc Pederson (2015) and Kris Bryant (2015) and Anthony Rizzo (2015) of the Chicago Cubs.
