Visit Cley Hill for panoramic views of Wiltshire and Somerset.

Don’t miss Frome Farmers Market at the Cheese and Grain Market Hall on the 2nd Saturday of each month.

Nearby Lacock Abbey is an excellent day out - it was used as Hogwarts in two Harry Potter films.

The 1.5 mile walk to the The Horse and Groom in Frome works up an appetite and we had a lovely meal before doing the return journey.

Chalk Hill and the Salisbury Plain are lovely areas to walk.

Visitor’s top tips

The Royal Oak Pub offers excellent food - it’s great for families and is dog-friendly too.

The famous Cheddar Gorge is fairly nearby (under an hour’s drive), and makes for a wonderful day out.

There’s a lovely tea room at Sheerwater Lake, which offers beautiful walking trails too.

Bradford-upon-Avon is a lovely little town with lots of interesting history.

If you fancy a day out on the coast, head to Weston-super-Mare.
