Ruvick Energy (Pty)Ltd knows as (Ruvick) is a 100% black owned business operating from Johannesburg, South Africa.
Ruvick was established in 2008 as a meter and Metering Services Company with its focus mainly in the electricity industry, operating on turnkey projects to do manufacturing, supply, install, vending and manage all the metering needs of electricity consumers. The largest targeted clients are Eskom, Municipalities, Housing estates and gated communities.
Together with our highly experienced design and R&D partners in China, Linyang Electronics, Ruvick is positioning itself to be a leader in the manufacturing and supply of electricity meters and prepaid vending operations targeted for all segments of consumers. We have also locally partnered with CZ Electronics, a contract manufacturing company where all our meters will be manufactured and repaired. Our factory and warehouse is 8000sqm in size and has the capacity to manufacture over 100 000 meters per month as our labour force is in excess of 350 highly experience employees. Through this agreement with our partners, Ruvick will be the central supply hub of this technology to the rest of the SADC countries.
Key accreditations were awarded by Eskom for compliance and the STS Association of South Africa. Other parts of our technology went under testing through the SABS and KEMA and complied with all the SANS metering requirements. Our factories both in China and South Africa are ISO 9000 and 14 000 accredited. At full operating capacity, the factory should employ an extra 300 employees on the main production line, based on the contract size and constant supply of meters.

Founders of Ruvick Energy, Mr Victor Chipane Maleka and Mr Hymie Pedro, comes with vast experience and expertise in the metering eld, having worked for Eskom and City of Johannesburg for over 15 years combined. Mr Maleka received his passion and training for metering in Datamatic (Texas, USA), Elektromed (Istanbul, Turkey), Addax metering (Moldova, Russia), The Blue Star Meter Research Institute (China), INHEMETER Meter Institute (Shenzhen, China) and Linyang Electronics in China. He is an Electro-Mechanical engineer who always has a for energy measurement.
Mr Hymie Pedro has qualications in business and has run a successful electricity metering company having pioneered the smart metering space in South Africa with installations in Gauteng and the Southern Cape. He has a passion for business and energy measurement and is the current CEO of Ruvick Energy.
Through our years of existence, we had partnerships with Strike Technologies, Hefcom and Nyamezela Advance Metering Solutions which culminated in successes in implementation of metering hardware and services to clients such as Eskom, City Power, Emfuleni, Centlec, Mangaung, Zimbabwe electricity utility (ZESA) and Tanzania electricity utility (TANESCO) at a combined supply and installation base of over 250 000 meters. Our alliance partners are Sisimile Engineering and Phefemwaeza Engineering, both experienced in the energy management eld.

In Our latest meter offering range, we have the Keypad Smart Prepayment 3phase Energy Meter that has ability to measure KVA and KVarh. This is a powerful meter in our range and will change the way businesses are run. The meter is capable to communicate in (PLC/RF/GPRS/Zigbee), which enables it to function in AMI/AMR systems to realize automatic meter reading, remote recharge and remote control. It is one of the best choices of the smart grid devices. For revenue optimization and protection, the meters can be installed inside a mild steel protective structure to curb electricity theft.

2.5 Highlight
• Area installation solution is a cost-efcient solution. There is only one Data Collector in one area
which cover range is up to 500 m. One Data Collector can support at least 128 pieces water meters.
Meantime, the solution can integrate the electricity meter and water meter in one system, it is easy
to manage the energy sources.
• The system is using the solar street light and the data concentrator is powered by Solar ,there is a
chargeable battery for back up power up to 20 hours.
• It is a whole wireless solution. Data Collector communicates with system via 2G/3G/4G module,
with the water meters via LORA module and CIU communicates with water meters via LORA;

is multifunctional with STS/CTS Encryption, Tax and Tariff management, Authorization,

Online Solution
• All water meters are online in the system via the online Data Collector or Electricity meter. The
system reads all required data from meter on schedule and on demand at any time, and monitors all
operations of the meter online. The system will calculate the daily consumption and monthly
consumption for the bill. The system updates the tariffs and other required parameters into meters
remotely;
• Remotely controlled and charged to the meter. The system can disconnect and connect the meter
remotely. After paying, the system will charge the meter with the amount of money paid via the
communication model remotely;
• The tariff is applied in the meter at time of use. The meter can be programmed for volumetric
dispensing which will allocate a predetermined volume of water per day or month to individual
consumer.

• LONGiPower charges the currency (ZA Rands ) into the meter directly. It is very transparent to the
customers. After paying, customers can inquiry the charged money in the meter. Meanwhile, it is
easy for customers to inquiry daily consumption (ZAR) ,monthly consumption (ZAR) ,calculate and
compare .No argument.
• The consumption calculation take place at time of use which means that credits left over at the end
of the month is charged at the lower step tariff and not as per the higher step tariff when purchase
on the conventional prepaid systems. -
