Newsletters / Calendars are online. . .https://sites.google.com/a/wrsd.ca/lochearn-school/Starting this month, we are reducing our paper consumption by putting our monthly newsletters and

calendars online instead of sending out paper copies to the homes. Please plan on checking the schools

website at least monthly for information.

If you do not have a computer at home and need to have a paper copy of the school newsletter and calenda

please contact your childs teacher and one will be sent home with your child.

School newsletters and calendars will be uploaded on the schools website by the last day of each month.

Pre-Kindergarten for 2013 - 2014

Applications for Pre-Kindergarten will be

considered for September. To be eligible your chi

must be 4 years of age by December 31, 2013. A

copy of your childs birth certificate is required athe time of registration. Children participating in

this program must have a current referral from a

Speech Language Pathologist.

Kindergarten for 2013 - 2014

Applications for Kindergarten will be accepted fo

September. To be eligible your child must be 5

years of age by December 31, 2013. A copy of

your childs birth certificate is required at thetime of registration.

School Council Meetings are now the 1st

Thursday of every month. Our next meeting is Thursday, January 10t

Bus Status App Available

Rocky Mountain House Dealing with

delayed or cancelled busses just got a lot

easier for children and parents in the Wild

Rose Public Schools area. Now anyone

with access to an iPhone or iPad can

simply check the new Bus Status App to

see if their route is cancelled or delayed.

This free app gives parents and children

the up-to-date information they need to

properly plan a safe way to get to school.

This app was developed in partnership

with Edmonton-based Company Box

Clever. Itwas created in response to

statistics showing the high amount of

traffic from mobiledevices the bus status

webpage received last year. Currently the

mobile application is

only available to Apple users. The

download for this app can be found online

at:

www.wrsd.ca and in the iTunes App Store

Student Medication . . .

If your child requires that medication be administered at school

Wild Rose Public School Permission/Request form must be

completed and returned to the school office. All medication is

kept in a locked cabinet in the school office.

Medication sent to the school must be in the original container

dispensed by the pharmacist.

Messages for Students . . .Please feel free to call the office if there is an

emergency, but as our student population is large, a

we are trying to minimize classroom disruptions, we

ask that you please, whenever possible, make all of

your arrangements for before and after school with

your child prior to coming to school.

Transportation Department . . .

Announcements regarding the shutdown of the schools transportation system will be made on CHBW 94.5 FM,

98.9 Zed FM, Big 105.5 FM, and KG Country 95.5 FM. Information regarding transportation system shutdowns

due to weather may be obtained from the office of the Transportation Supervisor at 403.845.4255 or

1.866.445.4255 or from the Wild Rose Public School website (www.wrsd.ca). The school will remain open in th

event the transportation system shuts down. We would ask parents to please use their own good judgment an

care when deciding whether or not to send their children when weather conditions are extreme or when there

a danger of roads becoming blocked, especially for students in kindergarten, grade one and two. Although

weather and road conditions can improve significantly during the day, Wild Rose public School Policy states that

a bus does not run in the morning, it will NOT run in the afternoon.

Inclement Weather . . .

Students are expected to play outside during recesses. On some days the weather may be such that this

expectation will be altered. Symbols will be placed at the entrances and announcements will direct the student

as to what to do.

No symbol: normal day students to be outside

Green Circle: students may quietly warm up in their entrance way (-19c)

Yellow Triangle: students are to be in their home rooms as it is too cold (-25c) or too wet to be outside
