ul. Kruczkowskiego 200-412 Warsaw, Polandwww.pisf.pl
Polish Film Institute (PISF) is the national film fund that offers comprehensive support for the Polish film industry, including film production, education and dissemination of film culture and international promotion. The Institute was established in 2005 and to date has co-financed more than 600 films. PISF is the first contact point for international professionals interested in making films in Poland.
Film Commission Poland (FCP) operates within the structure of the Polish Film Institute and its main goal is to promote the immense potential of the Polish film industry and variety of locations abroad. FCP closely cooperates with the network of regional film commissions, runs a comprehensive database of film locations and acts as the liaison between international producers and companies and professionals in the Polish film industry.

SELECTED WEATHER CONDITIONS IN POLAND, 2019
NATURAL CONDITIONS
Climate and Weather
The climate in Poland can be described as a temperate climate, passing gradually from maritime to continental, with relatively cold winters and warm summers. Poland has 4 seasons: spring, summer, autumn and winter. The greatest amount of sunshine in summer is to be found on the Baltic coast, while in winter – in the Carpathian Mountains. The average monthly temperature in July is 19°C (66°F), but sometimes in summer the temperature rises above 30°C (86°F). In the mountains the snow lies till April or some years even until May. The annual rainfall is 500–700mm, of which snow constitutes only 5–20%.
In Warsaw, the capital of Poland, temperatures range from between 20 to 25°C (68 to 77°F) during the summer months and 0 to –5°C (32 to 23°F) in winter.
Visa Regulations
Poland belongs to the European Union and the Schengen Area. In order to enter the area, citizens of third countries must hold a valid travel document and, if required, a visa.
Visa-free countriesThe citizens of more than 90 countries are not required to be in a possession of a visa when entering Poland for a period shorter than 90 days. The list of those countries can be found here: https://www.msz.gov.pl/en/travel_to_poland/entering_poland/visa_free/visa_free_countriesThe above list does not involve residence, work or any other paid activity (not applicable to citizens of the EU/EEA Member States). Artists can legally work in Poland up to 30 days within 12 calendar months. Once they would like to increase this period of time - need to apply for a working visa.
Visa requiredThe citizens of countries not listed above are required to be in a possession of one of the following documents:• a uniform short-stay Schengen visa (C);• a Polish long-stay national visa (D);• a Polish residence permit;• a residence permit or a national long-stay visa issued by
another Schengen state.
Before submitting an application for a Schengen or national visa, the application must be registered electronically at a Polish Consular Office. This can be done at: https://secure.e-konsulat.gov.pl/
Poland belongs to the Taxation and Customs Union together with the other European Union Member States and goods brought into, and taken out of, the country from within the EU are not liable for duty. Poland is also a signa-tory of the Convention on Temporary Admissions. ATA Carnets are thus honoured, making the transportation of film equipment over the border a simpler matter.

9. What are employment laws and working conditions for child actors?
Children cannot work longer than 6 hours a day and work is only allowed between 6 am – 8 pm, and not at night. Work longer than 4.5 hours requires at least 30-minute break. At least 14 hours lay-over time required between end of shooting and the start of work the next day. Children need to have 48 hours rest in each working week (one of those two days should be Sunday). Children cannot be alone on the set, they must be supervised by parents or legal guardians. Parents or legal guardians should be informed about the safety rules on the set.
To hire a child actor following documents need to be collected and submitted to a District Labour Inspectorate in order to obtain permission:• permission signed by parent /
legal guardian;• opinions on engaging a child for
work on the set — from school principal,— from the doctor,— from the psychological /
pedagogical centre.

6. Do I need a permit in order to film at historical sites?
YES, permission from the owner or managing authority is required. This is generally the Ministry of Culture although cultural institutions may be involved at a more local level. In some cases, the consent of the local historical conservation office will also be needed. The possibility of photographing and filming museum collections and exhibits may be covered by separate regulations. Shooting in historical buildings or at historical sites, particularly in the case of ruins, often involves the necessity of meeting additional insurance requirements.
Ministry of Culture and National HeritageMonuments Preservation DepartmentMinisterstwo Kultury i Dziedzictwa NarodowegoDepartament Ochrony Zabytkówtel. +48 22 21 21 [email protected], www.mkidn.gov.pl
7. What documents are required in order to obtain a permit?
In every case, it is worth preparing documents containing the following information:• the title of the film and the names of
the director and producer;• the film budget;• production insurance;• type of production: feature
film, documentary, television, commercial and so forth;
• the shooting date and number of filming days;
• a description of the scene or scenes to be shot;
• the composition of the crew: names and ID numbers, as well as the number of vehicles involved;
• a description of the equipment: lights, generators, cranes, dollies and so forth.
8. How long does it take for a permit to be issued?
It depends on the type of location and the owner. The earlier an application is submitted, the greater the chance that it will be reviewed positively and processed in good order. In the major-ity of cases, particularly for locations within town and city boundaries, the administrative procedures require an application for a permit to be submit-ted at least two weeks before shooting begins. In some instances, contacting the local film commission can acceler-ate the procedure.
