Why is choosing the right location important?

In the same way that props and costumes are important, finding the right location can enhance the whole atmosphere of a film. It's a vital part of the pre-production stage and should be undertaken prior to any filming taking place.

Task 1 You will soon be required to produce 3 productions from different genres. They are:

•  Western •  Period Drama •  Film noir During the rest of this lesson you are required to hunt out locations for these genres, and if they are near by – go and take photos for your recce, other wise scout the location and complete the forms provided
