Joe is covering Jonty’s timetable, while he takes some leave. We hope the Joe enjoys being part of the South School team during this period. Positive Thoughts for Building Confidence Confidence involves thoughts and feelings about being successful. Confident learners trust in their own ability to be successful. On the other hand, students low in confidence tend to give up easily, blame themselves for failure, are afraid of making mistakes, and rarely take credit for their success. Positive thoughts include: This doesn’t have to be perfect. I’ve done it before so I can do it again. So what if I make a mistake, other people make mistakes. It won’t be the end of the world If I can’t get this completed. It might take some time but I know if I persevere I can do it. Have a happy week! Canteen News

There will be a canteen meeting on Wednesday 9th

May at 1.30pm in the Canteen.

Everyone is welcome to attend.

Orana Visit In the final week of last term, four keen senior students visited Orana, as part of the school chaplaincy program. Abbie Blake, Sam Pereira, Ben Baker and Kaili Anderson conducted an ANZAC trivia and participated in a variety of fun activities with the residents, including balloon tennis, snakes and ladders, snap and noughts and crosses.

Everyone had a great time. The residents thanked the students for coming and sharing the afternoon with them.

This school-community partnership program, will continue each Tuesday afternoon, on a fortnightly basis, this term.

Fishing For Friends Last term, the Fishing For Friends group visited the Werrpanakata Fishing Place (next to TAFE), for their first fishing outing. The group enjoyed fishing together, and are now looking forward to their next outing this term.

We are looking for parents or grandparents who can assist us during our two fishing trips this term. We will leave school at 1.00pm for each trip and return by 2.45pm. Our fishing outings will be on Thursdays.

If you are able to help out, please contact the school on 58812045.
