Chrismon Tree DecoratingWe need Resident Volunteers to help trim the

Chrismon tree in the Front Lobby on Wednesday, December 2. Please report to the Front Lobby at 9:00 a.m. if you are interested in helping out.

A Christmas BlessingPastor Bill will bless our Chrismon Tree and

Crèche on Friday, December 4, at 10:00 a.m. in the Front Lobby. We will sing carols and offer our prayers to the Lord as we observe the seasons of Ad-vent and Christmas. Tune up your voices and come on down.

Chrismon Tree BookletsA Chrismon is a monogram of Christ. All the de-

signs of Chrismon Ornaments are symbols for Christ which have been passed down through the centuries of Christian history. It is hoped that they will make more meaningful the celebration of Christmas with emphasis upon God’s Great Gift to the world, our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

During the Christmas season of 1957, Chrismons were first used to decorate the Christmas tree placed in the Lutheran Church of the Ascension in Danville, Virginia. Only ornaments which referred to Christ were used, and tiny white lights, reflecting the purity of our Saviour, illuminated the tree.

Our Chrismon Ornaments, which are copies of the decorations used on the church tree, were hand-made by ladies of St. Mark Village.

Booklets explaining the meaning and symbolism of the Chrismon Tree ornaments are available at the Front Desk beginning Wednesday, December 2.

St. Mark Village MasksAt the 40th Anniversary Event we distributed

three different designs of masks to our Team Mem-bers as a thank you for always going above and be-yond. Many of you asked about receiving one also. We are able to accommodate your request and you will have a mask in your box on Friday, November 20th. Since there are three designs, they will be put in your boxes randomly. Masks are now a part of our essential attire, like shirts and shoes, so we hope you will enjoy receiving a new one, especially since it was designed with love right here at St. Mark Village. Wear your mask, stay safe, and God Bless.

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend.

—Melody Beattie
