Our story began in the 1980s at our

Cambridge pet shop, Monkfield Aquatics.

Unable to buy live food in the UK for our

reptiles we started a small cricket colony.

Soon, other shops started asking for

crickets and the demand has continued to

escalate ever since!

In the UK we employ over ninety people,

many of whom have been with us for

over ten years and sixty people on our

Eastern European site. Our dedicated and

knowledgeable team feel passionately

about what they do and will always go

the extra mile to get the job done.

At Monkfield we are committed toreducing our carbon footprint and investin sustainable energy sources whereverpossible. The site is fitted with solarpanels to reduce our dependence onfossil fuel and a biomass boiler toprovide heat for the site.

Our passion, commitment and expertiseover the years has led us to where we arenow – a leading UK wholesaler, catering forthe reptile industry.

We supply to wholesalers and the tradeacross the UK, Ireland and parts of mainlandEurope. Our customers include pet shops,zoos, wildlife centres, schools, universitiesand garden centres.

Frozen Rodents

Monkfield frozen rodents are supplied directlyfrom our rodent farm in Eastern Europe. All frozenfoods are humanely euthanized, according to a setof government-dictated guidelines, accuratelygraded, bagged or boxed and blast frozen.

All rodents are raised on high quality diets andsubject to regular health checks. We are licensedand regularly inspected by DEFRA for distributionto the trade.

At Monkfield we have been lookingafter, breeding and studying reptilesfor years and have accumulated avast amount of knowledge. Reptilescontinue to grow in popularity aspets and we are considered expertsin this field by those in the industryand regularly asked for our help andadvice.

Our captive breeding programme was set upin 1993 and continues to expand as weexplore other species. We breed all thepopular reptile species in our dedicatedpurpose built facility: Bearded Dragons,Frilled Dragons, Leopard and Crested Geckos,Chameleons, Corn, King and Milk Snakes andRoyal Pythons. We also source high-qualityunusual lines, such as Uromastyx, Green TreePythons, and many species of Amphibiansfrom reputable breeders.

Our website is always up to date with thelatest animals available. We stock a widevariety of species to suit any interest orbudget, lots of which have downloadablecare sheets and guides, which we arecontinually adding to!

All animals are shipped in good health andfeeding well. We endeavour to accommodatespecific requests but please note that wecannot always guarantee the gender of areptile.
