Think on this… By Sub-Deacon Alex

I wanted to share with you a poem that I wrote when a friend of mine lost their young child. It is appropriate for Passion Week.

How long?

My steps crunch and creek At the spindles above me

The trees look so bleak And the world is ugly

The fall of the year My heart longs

That one tree so pretty Fruit good to the eye

Disobedient bite And now we all die

The fall of man My heart longs

Joy to our world A child is born

Death's finger uncurled And from us he's torn

The fall of a child My heart longs

A sore loser is death You stubbornly sting

With your last noxious breath Drawn from you by the king

The fall of death My heart longs, longs for eternity.
