A unique combination of direct, indirect and lateral light compo-nents improves visual comfort thanks to uniform room illumination and perfect contrast rendition. MPO+ technology extends this flexi-bility by mitigating the effects of glare from the light source so that the luminaire can even be positioned directly above workstations. With its sealed construction, the ECOOS luminaire is resistant to soiling and therefore designed to allow longer maintenance cycles. In both versions, fine adjustment is made easier by a handy suspen-sion device which compensates tolerances. This allows the lumi-naire to be installed perfectly in just a few simple manual opera-tions. Due to efficiency increases, the complete ECOOS LED line is able to provide higher lumen packages. Therefore, task lighting in con-formity with applicable standards, providing an illuminance level of 500 lx, can now be implemented using fewer luminaires. It is now sufficient to install the luminaires along every other room axis only.
ECOOS LED comfortThe comfort optic ensures optimum glare control for computer workstations. UGR < 19 and luminance levels of L65 < 3000 cd/m² make ECOOS LED comfort an alternative to ECOOS T16 luminaires, providing similarly high quality.
ECOOS LED performanceHigh lumen packages allow for wider spacings between individual luminaires. ECOOS LED performance combines high luminous flux levels with good glare control nevertheless, at UGR < 19.
LED, even higher efficiency (100 lm/W) compared with the T 16 model (69 lm/W). Available in two colour temperatures: warm (3000 K) and intermediate (4000 K).
MPO+, Zumtobel’s unique micro-pyramidal optic: outstanding glare control enables lumi naires to be arranged freely, parallel or vertical relative to window frontage, and even directly above workstations.

Excellent light output ratios and a large direct component make the ECOOS LED/T16 luminaire one of the most efficient indirect/direct luminaires available on the market. Its complex system of optics and reflectors is highly effective. It delivers light which fulfils specific tasks in every respect. Indirect, direct and lateral light components ensure efficient task area lighting and also allow vertical illuminance levels. These improve visual comfort and concentration, while bright ceilings and walls create a pleasant atmosphere.
Defined light emission with L < 1500 cd/m² at 65° for LED/HE lamps and UGR < 19 is achieved by guiding the direct component through multiple layers via the MPO+ micro-pyramidal optic, diffuser film and reflectors.
ECOOS Mainly direct distribution characteristics (ID/DI – 1:3 ratio) combined with the luminaire’s high operating efficiency of 90 % provide particularly energy-efficient lighting solutions. The balanced indirect compo-nent visually brightens up the room, creating a pleasant atmosphere.
T16-fluorescent lamp, tried-and-tested technology and efficiency: an ergonomic classic in terms of luminous efficiency, high luminous flux levels and pleasant light colour.
Indirect light component, wide-angle distribution: even with the minimum pendant length of 35 cm, the diffuser-pearl enclosure ensures uniform ceiling illumination.
Perforated lateral reflector: perforated aluminium reflectors on both sides reduce luminance to beneficial moderate levels.

ECOOSInfinite light
Even installing ECOOS as a continuous row system is possible in next to no time. In order to install these visually lightweight, appar-ently free-floating lighting objects, connectors are available that join the luminaires together securely at their front sides. The shape and colour of the connectors become part of the luminaire, so that a visually consistent appearance is maintained. One luminaire next to the other. Pendant suspension points are located directly above the joints, thus completing the uncluttered look of the ECOOS continu-ous row system. On the ceiling, fine adjustment is provided by a suspension device that compensates for tolerances.

In offices, ECOOS combines an attractive design with a pleasant room effect, as well as, superior lighting quality. Moreover, the luminaire boasts optimum power requirements, which, in times of certification – according to LEED, DGNB etc. – is becoming in-creasingly important. With an installed load of less than 7 W per square metre, all specifications can be met even with a reduced number of luminaires. Where previously two rows of luminaires had to be installed, with ECOOS one row is frequently sufficient to meet all normative requirements. The recommendations in the current EN 12464-1 standard relating to illuminance levels on room surfaces are also taken into account in this context.
