Tiger Mountain Vineyards

“A boutique North Georgia Winery.

This local vineyard is beautiful at every

time of year!

John and Martha Ezzard and John and Marilyn McMullan have put years

of hard work into improving each vintage of their wine, all cultivated from

Georgia-grown grapes. The vineyard features a beautifully refurbished

75-year-old barn—now their café and events venue.

Tiger Mountain Vineyards often holds events such as Soup & Wine and

local musicians. This month, on Saturday, February 13, is their annual

Chocolate and Wine Bash! From 1:00 to 4:00 pm, they will be

serving chocolate fondue, with music by guitarist, songwriter, and vocalist

Tim McCabe. This event also marks the release of the latest Rabun Red!

Admission is $15, $10 for wine club members.

guitarist Derek Worth in the Tasting Room from 1:00 to 3:00 pm.

Welcome Zach Hitchcock and Courtney Beckett!

The Heaven’s Landing community welcomes it’s newest

members: Zach Hitchcock and Courtney Beckett.

Zach, a Delta Airlines 757/767 pilot based in Atlanta, has

always wanted to live in an airpark since he first found about

them in the late 90s when he started flying.

Courtney teaches junior high school geography and history,

and she enjoys designing jewelry in her spare time. When it

came to living in an aviation community, Zach says, “Luckily

Courtney didn’t need any convincing from me.”

Wanting a transition from their current home in

Chattanooga, Tennessee, to the Atlanta area, he and

Courtney began their search for an airpark home. This led

them to visiting several airparks and, as Zach puts it, “none

came close to Heaven’s Landing!”

“Our first visit was incredible,” the two say. “Courtney got her first GA airplane ride with Mike around the

local area in his Centurion. In the not too distant future, we hope to get a Debonair or Bonanza and get

involved with the Pilots and Paws charity [a non-profit which uses aviation to assist in animal rescue].”

Zach and Courtney thrive on adventure and the outdoors (a perfect fit for Heaven’s Landing), from

whitewater rafting and mountain biking, to landscaping and tropical travel. When at home, the couple

enjoys spending time with their three cats. “We have only met a handful of current residents but look

forward to meeting everyone.” Welcome, Zach and Courtney!

Give the Priceless Gift of Flight

Do you remember the first time you flew in an airplane? Or perhaps your

first time as pilot in command? Or the first time flying in a plane that was

your very own? For all of us, pilot or not, flying

creates magical memories. For some, it can even

transform lives.

Challenge Air for Kids & Friends is a nonprofit

committed to bringing the life-changing perspective of

flight to children with special needs who may feel the

obstacles in their life cannot be overcome. A short

flight may not seem like much, but this taste of fun

and adventure can be a pivotal point in a child’s life.

Heaven’s Landing is proud to host a Challenge Air

event on Saturday, April 30. We are looking for

experienced pilots to donate their time and aircraft.

Pilots must have 500 PIC hours, current medical

certificate, and proof of insurance. Contact Holly to

sign up or for more information.

If you don’t fly, there are still many ways to help! We

invite you to sponsor a child, offer donations from

your business or organizational

resources, or join us at the event as a

volunteer or spectator.

Maybe you fly for your occupation,

you’ve owned your own plane for years,

or for some other reason, you find

yourself taking flight for granted. Regain

some of that magic by lighting up a

child’s eyes and helping them defy

gravity!
