Schools are extremely busy places and there have been literally thousands of lessons delivered this year. In addition to Parent/Teacher Evenings, excursions, both overnight and daily and visiting presenters visiting presenters. Last week was no different to any normal week at LRCS and we had a highly successful End of Year Presentation Day on Thursday. It gave the school community the opportunity to acknowledge the efforts and achievements of our students. My hearty congratulations to all recipients and to every student that strived for their best throughout the year. School will resume for year 1- 12 students on Wednesday 5th February 2020. Kindergarten will begin on Monday 10th February 2020. Uniform Shop will be open Wednesday 5th and Thursday 6th February during the first week back and will resume normal opening hours from week 3. Finally in my last newsletter report for the year I would like to wish all our families a fantastic Festive Season and look forward to seeing everyone well rested an safe in the New Year. So ends another school year and I would like to thank the
staff students, parents and carers for their ongoing support of

The parents of our 2019 School Captains had the honour of
presenting their child with their school captains jacket in front
of fellow students, staff and community members.
Also thankyou to all the wonderful businesses for their much
appreciated donations, that always help to make this special
day a great success
Walgett RSL Scholarship Congratulations to Keegan Brown of S3N who was awarded the
Walgett RSL Scholarship!
Keegan travelled to Walgett to sit a number of exams against year
6 students from surrounding schools.
Thank you to David Hutchinson for presenting the Scholarship
cheque to Keegan.
This scholarship is open to all year 6 students in the district.
Applications will open again in October 2020.
Watch this space during Term 3 2020 for information. The next
round of 2020 application forms will be available at the School
Office and/or at the Walgett RSL Club in October 2020.
Yuwaalaraay Books
At Lightning Ridge Central School we teach Yuwaalaraay language to our Year 8 students. At the end of
the year the students create story books using the language that they learnt and take these books over to
Primary. Year 8 had loads of fun reading their Yuwaalaraay books to Bumblebees, State 1 and Stage 2.
Waan gaba! Great work! Dhiirrabuu! Awesome!
