Inspections performed by an approved inspection body

Inspections performed by an Approved Inspection Organization ( ZÜS) Inspection, testing and certification based on

different standards (depending on the type of lifting equipment). E.g. Passenger Lifts*, Passenger/Goods Lifts*, Construction Hoists, Lifts for Disabled Persons with travel height ≥ 3m, Suspended Access Equipment, Lifts in Wind Turbines*, etc.

TÜV SÜD Industrie Service GmbH is a German Notified Body (NB 0036) for both the European Lifts Directive 2014/33/EU and the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. Our accreditation covers all relevant Annexes within both Directives.

Reduce risks and increase lift safety with our advanced methodology ADIASYSTEM® is a computer based method of measuring relevant

features of lifts and proper documentation of test results. The ADIASYSTEM® substitutes the complex measuring method

with the bulky check weights. No-load tests for the assessment of lift safety gears, quantitative

determination of the traction, verification of the function of the re-leveling device and the adjustment of hydraulic safety valves for lifts.

The equipment kit consists of measuring instruments and specific software tools. It can provide accurate measurement of actual physical values (mass of car and counterweight, rated speed etc).

Specific measurements made with the ADIASYSTEM® can be used for initial acceptance tests, periodic tests and verifications as well as expert opinions.

Current Legal Situation in Germany


The “Betriebssicherheitsverordnung” (BetrSichV) (engl.” Opearational safety Act” )

is the German implementation of the Work Equipment Directive 89/655 / EEC, later replaced by Directive 2009/104 / EC, and regulates in Germany - the provision of work equipment by the employer, - the use of work equipment at work as well as - the operation of installations requiring monitoring in the sense of

occupational safety.

The protection concept contained in it applies to all hazards arising from work equipment.



Duties/ Responsibility for employers:

• Inspection for all working devices (authorised persons)• Identification of damages• Check of the safety assessments• Periodic inspections/checks• Periods depending on type/application of device.• Definition of the check criterion• Documentation of the inspections results



DGUV: „Deutsche gesetzliche Unfallversicherung“(engl.: „German legal Accident-Insurance“)

• Avoidance of accidents at work• Avoidance of work-related deseases• Support in creating accident prevention regulations• Planing of rehabilitation measures• Professional consulting for its members• Defining of inspection requirements
