The Festival of Arts Cielos del Infinito is an event that takes place every summer since 2008 in the southernmost towns of the world: Punta Arenas, Puerto Natales and Puerto Williams located in Magellan and Chilean Antarctica region.

The festival seeks to create cultural spaces in the farthest part of Chile facilitating artistic dialogue and promoting national and international artists.

To achieve this aim, the festival presents theatre productions and organises workshops conducted by prominent professionals. All of the events during the festival are free of charge for people in the community.

So far, 6 editions of the festival have taken place thanks to the support of the Fondart (The National Council for the Arts and Culture) and the FNDR (The National Fund for Regional Development).

The Festival aspires to bring this event into the international arena so as to become a cultural landmark of Chilean and Argentinian Patagonia.

Presenting a high quality artistic programme alongside free workshops, featuring outstanding artists and professional dance, drama, film and music teachers, the festival seeks to facilitate the access to culture in Magellan region.

· Artistic Programme DiversityThe festival selects theatre productions with unique artistic languages and style. STRATEgIC ouTlINE

- The audience numbers have doubled in the period 2008 – 2013.- The festival features theatre, dance, film and music.- The festival now organises a variety of workshops: voice, vocal, dance, drama, video, cultural industries etc.- The festival gives an opportunity for young people in the local community interested in the arts to gain volunteer experience in festival management. - The festival has established cooperation with Theatre Festival Container, Valparaiso, Chile; ZICOSUR Festival, Antofagasta, Chile; Festival Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia; Festival ULLS, Barcelona, Spain. Besides, the festival takes an active part in the Network of Cultural Promoters of Latin America and the Caribbean.

The Festival of Arts Cielos del Infinito is a cultural event which has attracted more than 60,000 people during its 6 editions from 2008 to 2013. The festival has presented 60 theatre productions and more than 380 artists who held workshops and presentations in Magellan region.

In its 7 edition, the festival will take place from January 2014. This year the

organisers aim to enhance the international programme inviting several important theatre productions from abroad. Cielos de Infinito actively participates in the Network of Cultural Promoters of Latin America and the Caribbean and develops links with international festivals in Europe and in

South America. Besides, in its 7 edition the festival intends to diversify its venues embracing public spaces and finding non-conventional locations for artistic performances.
