Why the Assistant Accountantapprenticeship isgoodfor your businessAnAssistantAccountant providessupport tointernal andexternal customersandwill workwithin apracticeor the financefunction of anorganisation. Partof their rolewill involveassistingin the day-to-dayfinancial activities suchasdataentry to month-endmanagementaccountsand/or year-endfinancial statements. Inaddition theassistant accountant mayfind themselvesinvolvedin regulatory financial requirements suchasthecompletion of VATreturns or assisting in thepreparationof tax computations.

Apprenticescompleting the newApprenticeshipwill demonstrate the knowledge,skills andbehaviours neededto beanAssistant Accountantacrossindustry, practice andpublic sector. Itcompliments both the AAT’s2016newsyllabuswith apprenticescompleting asynoptic test andbringing together aportfolio of work showcasingthe best of their achievements.

• AATAdvancedDiploma in Accounting Level3

Apprenticeship FundingLevypaying employers (employerswith a paybill over£3mper year)– your levy funds canbeusedto payfor apprenticeships.

If you are a non-levy paying employer 95%of theapprenticeship training and assessment costs will bepaid by the government and youwill only have to contributethe remaining 5%.

Governmentincentives are available if you take onapprentices between 16– 18yearsof age.
