i. Construction of Storm Water drains:

Storm water/ Sullage drains of worth Rs. 1.00 crore were constructed, under the 13th finance grant for 2014-2015 in various localities in the town. On completion of these drains there is a great relief from inundation problem in low lying areas and improvement in the environment.

ii. Implementation of G.O 279: Under G.O MS No. 279 for effective management of Municipal Solid Waste, micro pockets with 350 Households each are being planned, the survey of the micro pocketing is under process.

iii. Removal of Encroachments: Removal of 75 encroachments at Guntabavi street and Main Bazar. Encroachments such as piles, steps, covering slabs, bathrooms, compound walls over the municipal drains are removed.

The above photographs depicts the tree plantation and distribution.

Under AMRUT scheme 16.95 crores has been sactioned

for providing 100% household water supply conections

and developing a park with a amount of Rs. 50 lakhs, A

park will be developed at Ayyappa Swamy temple with

an exten of 1.10 acres. Innauguration of the work is done

by laying foundation stone on 25th of June 2016.

As a part of Green Cover increase in the state, AP Urban Greening and Beautification

Corporation have fixed target of planting 22,000 trees in Avenue, open spaces,

schools and distributing to households in the Guntakal town. Till now 2300 trees are

distributed and 580 trees are planted.

i. Community Toilet:

To make the city open defecation free as

per the requirement construction of 12

Community Toilets has been taken up. Out

of which 9 are being constructed Under

Swachh bharat mission and 3 are being constructed under Municipal

General Fund. Important locations were identified and proposed for the

community toilets.so far 4 units are under construction with total number

of 20 seats. One unit comprises of 5 seats each.

ii. IHHT’s:

Hon'ble Chief Minister of Andhra

Pradesh Sri. Nara Chandra Babu Naidu

with a goal to achieve the newly

launched campaign "Swachh Bharat

Mission" on 2nd October 2014 by

Hon'ble Prime Minister of India has

found Swachh Andhra Corporation which was incorporated on 1st May

2015. Under this programme municipal commissioner has sanctioned

IHHTs for 1850 Households out of which 1434 Nos are completed till date.

Percentage of achievement is 77.5%, and remaining will be completed by

the end of July 2016.



As part of AMRUT reform replacement of conventional with LED lights

50% of lights are replaced and remaining is expected to be completed by

the end of July 2016, even though with the partial completion of LED

replacement the energy savings is very impressive. There is a reduction of

Rs.2.70 lakhs in the power bill for the month of June.

Disbursement of pensions to the Old Age,

Widow, Physically Handicapped,

Weavers and eligible beneficiaries under

Abhaya Hastham are issuing through

Biometric system to reduce malpractices

during the 1st week of every month.

During the month of June 2016, 3942 old

age, 3380 Widow, 1077 Physically

Handicapped, 161 Weavers and 235

Abhaya Hastham pensions are

disbursed.

LED Lighting



i. Nava Nirmana Deeksha:

A week-long Nava Nirmana Deeksha was held from June 2 to June 8 2016,

the day the erstwhile state was bifurcated two years ago. It has decided to

observe the day as "reconstruction day'.

Honb’le Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has launched the deeksha at

Vijayawada on June 2. Similar deeksha was organised in Guntakal

Municipality. Rally was held in the town where a Nava Nirmana Deeksha

pledge was administered to the people.

The following events conducted during the Nava Nirman Deeksha:

JUNE 3: Speeches and debates on the impact of the unilateral

and unscientific division of the state.

JUNE 4: Discussions on the achievements made by the people

and the administration in the last two years.

JUNE 7: Welfare and developmental initiatives in the last two

years are discussed.

JUNE 8: Mahasankalpam event.

City walk by elected representatives and officials Essay writing competition was conducted in municipal schools Group viewing of the program of Honorable Prime Minister

The Honorable MLA, Honorable Chairperson, the Municipal Commissioner,

elected representatives and Municipal staff attended the celebrations.
