Its hard to believe that it has been 28 years since GBS (General Biomedical Service, Inc.)

was founded. Our lives have changed tremendously through the years and GBS has grown.

We started in 1982 as a small service company and have become a leading company

providing high quality refurbished ventilators. Throughout the years we have added

products to our line such as anesthesia machines, pulse oximeters, defibrillators,

concentrators and monitors.

Our goal has remained the same:

The market of used and refurbished medical equipment has changed through the years.

Nowadays many companies “claim” to sell refurbished medical equipment and offer good

customer service. Unfortunately that is not the case.

GBS has weathered many storms(including Katrina) and has experienced the effects of

the ever changing market. Throughout the good and the tough times, our commitment

has remained the same: Be the best you can be and put the customer first.

When we say a unit is refurbished, it is completely refurbished by factory-trained

technicians. Many people have learned the hard way that you really get what you are

Servicio y Reparación

Mail-in / Depot Repair ServicesWe offer depot repair, PM inspections and calibrations services on most ventilators, IPPB units, blenders, pulse-oximeters, monitors and other equipment. To insure prompt turnaround time, please call our service department for an authorization number prior to sending equipment in for repair. We will also provide a free estimate before any repairs are made.

On-Site ServiceWe provide as-needed and emergency repair services for ventilators and other respiratory equipment at your facility in our local area (within 200 miles of our New Orleans office). Please call our service department to schedule any repairs or rentals that you may need.

Overhaul ServicesGeneral Biomedical Service, Inc. can provide full factory overhauls for ventilators and respiratory equipment. We follow all manufacturers’ recommendations for overhauls such as installing complete kits and calibrating units to meet manufacturers’ specifications. We can provide overhauls for infant and adult ventilators, as well as blenders, and compressors from major manufacturers such as Bird, Bear, Puritan Bennett (Tyco), Respironics, Sechrist, and Siemens among others. Some of the ventilators we overhaul include, 8400sti, 6400st, VIP, IPPB units, IV100b, 7200, 740/760, 840, 900 and 300a. For complete details and other models please contact us.

PM ContractsWe can also provide PM contract service on your ventilators and respiratory equipment. This includes 2 PM visits per year, standard PM parts travel and labor at your facility or hospital in our local area (within 200 miles of our New Orleans office). Complete calibration and check lists are provided along with electrical safety testing to meet JCAHO recommendations.

Full Service ContractsOur Full Service Contract includes, PM contract visits, plus all parts, labor and travel for that year, unlimited service calls and 24 hour technical support. Contracts exclude expendable parts, accessories, equipment abuse, water damage and overhauls.

Technical SupportOur technical staff is available 24 hours a day, to answer any questions you may have about your equipment, our services and rentals.

Equipment RentalsWe offer 24 hour emergency rentals of ventilators to all hospitals in our local rental area (within 200 miles of our New Orleans office). If outside our local area, call for possible rentals during business hours. In addition, we can assist you with long and short term rentals, consignment rental programs and rent-to-own programs.

How to OrderCall one of our Customer Service Representatives and they will assist you in preparing your equipment order. Most equipment is in stock and will be shipped within 10 working days of order confirmation.

International WarrantyAll General Biomedical equipment shipped internationally is warranted for a 180 day period from the date of shipment from New Orleans. Any item you return to us during this period will be repaired or replaced free of charge. Some restrictions apply. Please contact our Service Manager for complete instructions and a Return Authorization Number. Equipment damaged in shipment is excluded from this warranty. Shipping damage claims are to be submitted to the shipping company.

NS What is Refurbished?

You will be more satisfied with your purchase from General Biomedical because, unlike “used” or “as-is” equipment available on the market, all General Biomedical ventilators and anesthesia machines undergo both operational as well as cosmetic restoration.

During the refurbishing process, equipment is disassembled, components are replaced or repaired and circuit boards are tested and calibrated before the equipment is rebuilt according to the manufacturers’ specifications. Each piece is then outfitted with our standard accessories and each system and function is tested in our laboratories over a 72 hours period before being shipped to you.

Your General Biomedical equipment arrives with an operational verification procedure checklist (OVP), a guarantee of satisfaction, and a 90 day warranty.

Payment TermsAll General Biomedical equipment is shipped FOB New Orleans, Louisiana. Terms are Net 30 days for credit approved accounts. Non-credit accounts must prepay by check, wire transfer, Letter of Credit or VISA/MC.

Lease PurchaseWe offer two, three and four year lease purchase plans. Monthly payments are often lower than rental payments and at the end of the lease you will own your General Biomedical equipment. The standard warranty will apply to all General Biomedical equipment on the Lease Purchase Plan.

WarrantyAll General Biomedical equipment is warranted for a ninety-day period from the date of shipment from New Orleans. Any item you return to us during this period will be repaired or replaced and then returned to you free of charge. Please contact our Service Manager for complete instructions and a Return Authorization Number. Equipment damaged in shipment is excluded from this warranty. Shipping damage claims are to be submitted to the shipping company.

Extended WarrantyThe standard ninety-day warranty can be extended to a full year on many of our items. These items need to be shipped into our New Orleans office for warranty repair. The freight expense will be shared (you pay for shipment to GBS and we will pay for return). Please ask your sales representative for details.
