Duration: 1hour
Theme/Topic: World of Knowledge – Our Heroes
Pupils’ previous knowledge:
Pupils were able to form letters and words in neat legible print including cursive writing.
Focus skill: Writing; Reading, Listening & speaking (integrated skill)
Learning Standard: 3.2.1 Able to transfer information with guidance to complete:
(a) Linear texts
3.3.1 Able to create simple texts using a variety of media with

a) Teacher distributes
the newspaper excerpts
about Malaysian
Heroes. (refer appendix
1)
b) Pupils will be ask to

read through the text.
c) After the exampling,
pupils will be asked to
look at the descriptive
words used to describe
the people mentioned
in the text.
d) Teacher randomly
asks the few pupils to
say out the words that
they can find in the text.

the worksheets and
instructs pupils to
transfer the information
from the text into the
worksheet. (refer
After pupils reading

newspaper excerpts.

art work and share it
with the class.
Pupils will be
encouraged to discuss
with their pairs and
share opinion.
A blank template of the
writing will be given to
the pupils. (appendix 4)
For the low level pupils,
they are encouraged to
write at least short
sentences and phrases
with about 20 words.
For the average and
above, they are
requiring writing a short
paragraph of simple
linear text.
Assessment can be
conduct when
pupils presenting
their work.
Identify the pupils’
ability in writing
simple linear text by
observing their
doings.
This is where the
pupils show their
creativity and
innovation in writing
– the use of
descriptive words in
describing people.
