So much more…
Facebook Fearless: fearless to me is having God in control of our lives...no matter
what comes in our direction of life he will be in total control…
Facebook Fearless: Jumping "in" head first, trusting that God will provide no matter
what...having faith
Facebook Fearless: strong ,bold,1 with God
Facebook Fearless: Letting go and letting God even through the hardest times it's
trusting God's got control
Facebook Fearless: We don't have time for fear, We don't have the luxury of self
doubt. We have to stare into the Face of the Unknown and make…
sure we don't blink!Faith makes us face down fear.
Facebook Fearless: 1. Being authentic and comfortable with who GOD made you to be and
not allowing the fear of man to dictate your actions, words, style, opinions, beliefs, etc. (The
understanding of God's unconditional love... which isn't based on anything other than He
created you - which is perfect - casts out fear)
Facebook Fearless: 2. Having courage in the face of fearful situations and
circumstances. Acknowledging that you are afraid, yet having the courage to stand
in the face of the thing.
3. Firmly - and graciously - standing on your convictions and beliefs when facing
ridicule or challenging questions.....
Facebook Fearless: "Fearless" to me is complete and total surrender to God. Total
faith and trust in him
Facebook Fearless: Making sure you are following God's lead
and trusting Him absolutely
1) Fearless: No longer paralyzed by “what if’s.” Set free to act in faith instead of reacting to the {perceived} dangers of
our world
2) Fearless: Not the absence of apprehension, but the
presence of overcoming faith
"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD
your God will be with you wherever you go"- Joshua 1

What will they think?
Maybe I should just stay home?
As Jesus went, the people pressed around him. And there was a woman who had
had a discharge of blood for twelve years, and though she had spent all her
living on physicians, she could not be healed by anyone
{for she said to herself, “If I only touch his garment, I will be made well}
- Matthew 9
She came up behind him and touched the fringe of his garment, and immediately her discharge of blood ceased
And Jesus said, "Who was it that touched me?"
When all denied it, Peter said, "Master, the crowds surround you and are pressing in on you!"
But Jesus said, "Someone touched me, for I perceive that power has gone out
from me"
Multitude= touching Jesus
1= causes power to flow from him
When sin touches God in faith:
God wins
And when the woman saw that she was not hidden, she came trembling, and falling down before him declared in the presence of all the people
why she had touched him, and how she had been immediately healed
And he said to her, "Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace"
- Luke 8:43-48
Where fear would keep her paralyzed in bondage…
The action of faith had the power to set her free
Where fear would keep us paralyzed in bondage…
The action of faith has the power to set us free
Faith isn't the absolute absence of fear
but the presence of action{in spite of the fear}
Faith isn't the absolute absence of fearbut the presence of action
Faith that is acted upon bringsgreater boldness

Rejection The Unknown
Sometimes it’s just the only option, but…
Sometimes it’s just the only option, but…
Why would we wait that long?
Sometimes it’s just the only option, but…
Why would we wait that long?
God’s people shouldn’t suffer just because we're afraid of
what people might think
How has the fear of rejectionplayed a role in the expression
of my faith?
What does that say about me?
What would be different if I chosefaith over fear?fear?
Do I let fear of the unknown sabotage me?
Why?

:The RockThe Rock: rolls over
But again he denied it.
And after a little while the bystanders again said to Peter,
"Certainly you are one of them, for you are a Galilean."
But he began to invoke a curse on himself and to swear,
"I do not know this man of whom you speak."
And immediately the rooster crowed…
And Peter remembered how Jesus had said to him,
"Before the rooster crows…you will deny me three times."
And he broke down and wept
- Mark 14:70-72
Why?
…Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them,
"Rulers of the people and elders, if we are being examined today concerning a
good deed done to a crippled man, by what means this man
has been healed…
…let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel that by the name of
Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified,
whom God raised from the dead-by him this man is
standing before you well
This Jesus is the stone that was rejected by you, the builders, which has become
the cornerstone.
And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven
given among men by which we must be
saved"
Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated, common men, they were astonished.
And they recognized that they had been with Jesus
So they called them and charged them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus.
Sometimes fear is legit
But Peter and John answered them,
"Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you
rather than to God, you must judge, for we cannot but speak
of what we have seen and heard"
"Lord, look upon their threats and grant to your servants to continue to speak
your word with all boldness"
- Acts 4

"Hey Soul Surfer…"
How does the fear of painrule me?
Does God wantto set me free?
Do I honestly believe thatGod wants to set me free?
Then what do I needto do?
{Confrontation}{Confrontation}
But when Cephas (Peter) came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he stood condemned
Oh no you di'in't!
For before certain men came from James, he was eating with the Gentiles; but when they came he drew back and separated himself, fearing the circumcision party
Conquered fear doesn't remain conquered without
vigilance
Somebody ought to do something
And the rest of the Jews acted hypocritically along with him, so that even Barnabas was led astray by their hypocrisy.
Now it's just plain out-of-hand. Someone needs to put a stop to this!
But when I saw that their conduct was not in step with the truth of the gospel, I
said to Cephas before them all,
"If you, though a Jew, live like a Gentile and not like a Jew, how can you force the
Gentiles to live like Jews?"
How often does evil go unchecked because "somebody" should do something…while no one does?
Whose job?
When to confront?
When to confront {believers}?
Truth of the gospelI know the facts
I've prayedI've decided I'll speak gently yet firmly
The cost if I {look the other way}?

Am I letting it continue because I’m afraid

At what cost?
What overcomes fear?
• Who God is:
– The Lord is my light and my salvation- whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life. Of whom shall I be afraid?
- Psalm 27
What overcomes fear?
• What God has done:
– For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and self-control
–2 Timothy 1:7
What overcomes fear?
• What God has shown:
– There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love
–1 John 4:18
What overcomes fear?• Where God is:
–At my first defense no one came to stand by me, but all deserted me. May it not be charged against them! But the Lord stood by me and strengthened me, so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed and all the Gentiles might hear it. So I was rescued from the lion’s mouth
–2 Timothy 4:16-17
What overcomes fear?
• God's people praying:
–Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should- Eph. 6:19-20
What overcomes fear?
• The cross of Christ:
–Proves his love
–Provides his power
– Fits well on my back…
Pray…hard
