FRIDAY 28 JUNE 2019 | TERM 2 | WEEK 9

Principal’s Message We have had a fantastic 2 weeks with students being involved in a variety of activities both here at school and away representing the school. Of particular note I acknowledged both Bill G and Ayla G at assembly last Friday for their excellent community service in assisting another child from school when they were involved in an incident that required medical help. They did a great job in getting help and making sure that we were notified. Well done again – it is wonderful that we are producing such great citizens in our community. We also received wonderful news last Friday. One of our Year 6 Students Isabella S had travelled to Sydney to Government House as she was notified that she was a finalist in the Australia-wide Interrelate Anti-Bullying poster competition. It was announced at the ceremony that Isabella was the nation-wide winner! We are very proud of you Bella, fantastic effort. Last week Rex S and Leon K were part of the NSW PSSA State 11’s Rugby League team that played in Charlestown. This week Jimmy M and Dylan W are in Sydney with the North Coast PSSA State Rugby League Opens team. From all reports all the boys thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the opportunity. Many other students are still involved in PSSA Knockout teams. Our Netballers won again this week, well done girls. In addition our League and Union teams will play again next week. We wish them all good luck as they continue to progress. I did manage to watch the Junior Spelling Bee finals on Tuesday. I was very impressed by the standard of the spellers. Congratulations to the two finalists who will now represent us at regionals. I was unable to watch the senior final, but I understand the standard was also quite high. Well done to all of the competitors. Uniforms A reminder once again, if you haven’t got the correct uniform please do this as soon as possible. I would also ask you to check your child’s socks. Socks should be grey, white or bottle green and ankle length, no branded or other colour socks please. In addition North Coast and PSSA jumpers are not school uniform and are not to be worn to school. We appreciate your assistance in this matter. The below socks and jumper are not school uniform and are not to be worn to school.

Below is the correct School Jumper. Please note school jumpers are bottle green and it is ok if they do not have the logo. Semester 1 Reports Student reports will be sent home by the end of next week. Parent/Teacher interviews will be scheduled for next term - Wednesday 7 August. Information on how to book an interview will be sent out in week one of next term. Bookings will close 2 days prior to the event. This will be the last newsletter for this term. The last day for the term is Friday 5 July and students will resume for Term 3 on Tuesday 23 July. Have a safe and relaxing holiday, see you all in Term 3. Kind Regards Deb Langfield Principal Library News Byron Bay Writers Festival - Term 3 A reminder that this performance is on Wednesday 31 July.
