Welcome to the 2012 LeMoyne Chain of Parks Art Festival. We hope that you will enjoy yourself as you walk through the parks and the beautiful setting in downtown Tallahassee while you visit over 140 artists’ tents and see the fascinating array of art works
on display. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the Festival Committee who has worked diligently since the day after the 11th festival to make this year’s festival even better.
This year we welcomed three new sub-committee chairs who have joined our team: Robbyn Whitlock, Entertainment Chair; Terrie Brooks, Food & Beverage Chair; and Blair Gregg, Public Relations and Marketing Chair. With the help of their sub-committee members they have done a fantastic job!
Don’t forget to visit the Festival Souvenir and Information tent to pick up a beautiful festival poster or t-shirt featuring the “Enduring Sentinel” by Natalia Andreeva. They make artful gifts for anyone and a nice souvenir of your weekend at the festival. There are all sorts of food vendors offering a wide variety of delicious dining on Calhoun Street as well as wine and beer for your refreshment. Grab a seat in the food court on Calhoun Street and listen to the entertainers on stage, or eat and drink as you wander through Bloxham and Lewis Parks shopping the beautiful art presented there.
The Festival’s success has been made possible by all our vendors and sponsors. We would like to especially thank Mad Dog Construction for stepping up to be our new Presenting Sponsor this year. We also want to thank our long time sponsors, the Tallahassee Democrat, Media Presenting Sponsor and Capital City Bank our Festival Host. We want to thank the Tallahassee Parks and Recreation Department for their cooperation in the planning of our festival. They are extremely helpful and make our work with them a pleasure
Finally we would like to thank our graphic designer Mary Liz Moody of Kidd Group who is responsible for the magazine layout and all graphic design for the festival. The LeMoyne Center for the Visual Arts staff also has found time in their demanding schedules to help with the festival. Jennifer Infinger, Education Coordinator has worked with Target to plan the Kid Zone. Ann Kozeliski, Executive Director is our artist relations guru for the weekend and will MC the artist award dinner on Saturday evening. Most of all, we greatly appreciate our Event Manager, Sheri O. Sanderson without whom this event would not be possible. Enjoy!

The History of LeMoyne Center for the Visual ArtsLeMoyne Center for the Visual Arts is named after the French artist Jacques le Moyne de Morgues who accompanied the second French expedition to Florida under Rene de Landonniere in the year 1565, becoming the first western artist to paint Florida subjects. Four hundred years later, when the first art association in Florida’s capital city was formed, it seemed appropriate to name it in honor of the first artist upon its shores.
Currently housing main galleries in the historic Meginniss-Munroe house (c. 1854) LeMoyne is the first non-profit, community based visual arts center in the Big Bend area of North Florida. LeMoyne Center for the Visual Arts was founded in 1963 by community leaders as a venue for fine art exhibitions and art education activities dedicated to Creating Community Through Art. LeMoyne serves the community by offering quality art exhibitions of local and regional appeal, offering diverse art education and outreach programs, and art events for people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds.
Please visit our gallery inside this historic home, located at 125 N. Gadsden St., just past the non-profit booths at the Festival. Entry is free to all during our Chain of Parks Art Festival.

The emerging artists program at the LeMoyne Chain of Parks Art Festival was started in 2010 with the goal of encouraging participation in the world of
outdoor festivals by providing the opportunity to experience the application process and participation in LCoPAF at a reduced cost to the emerging artists. This program is limited to 10 participants who are selected by the Festival Committee.
The program is designed specifically for outstanding artists who have never exhibited or sold their work at an outdoor festival. Artists who are just beginning their careers in the art world are encouraged to apply. The artists chosen have an opportunity to sell their work, meet other artists and participate in a nationally recognized festival.

Located on the south side of Park Avenue between Monroe and Calhoun Streets, the 2012 Lemoyne Chain of Parks Art Festival Kids Zone is bigger and better than ever! Thanks in part to our Kids Zone sponsor, Target stores; children are able to take part in a number of ‘Make & Take’ art projects. All activities are free of
charge and provide your kids a chance to get in touch with their own inner artist!
Activities this year include; dream-catchers, mosaic paper, watercolors, and of course everyone’s favorite
– sidewalk chalk. Materials for all of these fun projects are provided by Target and your kids get to take home their very own masterpiece.
And no Kid’s Zone is complete without face painting right? Well also on hand are Karen Mercer and her team from Fairy Dust Face Painting to show kids the creative side of design-ing face art. Children will have the chance to create a mas-terpiece of their own first and for an additional fee can even have the creation applied in paint to their smiling little faces.
What better way to engage your family in the arts than see-ing some of the region’s top artists in exhibition AND getting to create their own art! Art is a family affair, so bring the kids along and enjoy the day in downtown Tallahassee’s beautiful oak shaded parks.
