SCHEDULED MONUMENTS The following have been scheduled this year : Hinckley. The Moats, Stoke Golding (V. C. H. Leics. i. 270). Sproxton. Deserted village at Bescaby.

RESEARCH BY MEMBERS Mr. W. A. G. Pace has compiled a card-index of Deserted Medieval Villages in the county, with map references and references to literature and aerial photographs. Five--Andreschurch, Newbold Folville, Prestgrave, Willowes, and Woodcote-still remain to be located by country walkers. Mr. G. H. Green has added half-a-dozen further sites to Dr. Hoskins's original list.

NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF ALMSHOUSES The Hon. Secretary has been concerned in assisting this body to obtain members locally. The Association has a fine record of almshouses saved and modernised. The following Leicestershire almshouses are members :
