Rifl escopes.Success in your sights.
The Wonders of Nature ...
... are spread across the entire globe. The purpose of
the Leica Sport Optics range is to discover them, to
pause and experience the moment in all its intensity.
Our success story begins in 1907, when the first
binoculars entered production: the Binocle 6 x18,
In 1920, Dr Ernst Leitz II took over his father’s position
as head of the Leitz (later Leica) optics factory. The
young Leitz was not only a passionate entrepreneur, he
was also a passionate field sportsman. His enthusiasm,
his love of nature and his unwavering dedication to
quality still shape our products today. We don’t design
mere technical gadgets; we develop products of the
very highest optical quality that answer the needs
of sportsmen.
The following pages are a journey of discovery.
Here, you will get to know our new Magnus series of
riflescopes and learn more about our ER riflescopes.
Brilliant optics combined with precision engineering
guarantee a successful outcome every time, over
distance and under the harshest of conditions.

ABOUT US
The sun still hangs low ...
... over the early-morning horizon in Tanzania. Behind the
lush rainforest, the radiant grasslands and the endless
savannah, the majestic Kilimanjaro rises regally into the
heavens. There could hardly be a more perfect place to
experience the magnificence of Africa’s natural beauty
and its breathtaking animals.
The prospect of watching herds of gnus, kudus and
springboks, followed by the big five, instantly makes
the heart beat faster.
This region also offers some of the most fascinating
opportunities. Nowhere else on the planet has such a
broad array of free-ranging wild game. For an experienced
sportsman, the mere mention of its famous reserves
and national parks - such as the Selous Game Reserve –
is enough to set the pulse racing. At 54,000 km², it is the
biggest game reserve in the world and boasts the greatest
number of Cape buffalo. Stalking these mighty beasts is
not only thrilling; it demands courage, stamina and skill.
Leica Sport Optics has developed its range of riflescopes
precisely for situations such as these: for those moments
when absolute reliability is key. Uncompromising in their
precision and technically sophisticated – maximising your
chance of success.

RIFLESCOPES
Only a heartbeat away ...... behind the thicket of branches, rests a herd of enormous, dark-brown Cape buffalo. Considered generally
peaceful and good-natured, they are also extremely tough and confi dent. Above all, they have an uncanny
ability to sense when danger lurks.
You are acutely focused. You now have to silently and carefully move as close as possible to your chosen
buffalo, get it in your sights and, at the right moment, take an accurate shot.
The buffalo is a high point for any devotee of African hunting. Not only is the trophy of a remarkable strength
and size, it’s an unforgettable experience filled with excitement. And because every quarry and every
sportsman is unique, we have developed two different series of riflescopes. The new Magnus series of
premium riflescopes comprises three illuminated models that perform brilliantly even under the most
challenging light conditions. And the dependable ER series features the longest eye relief in its class.

CUTAWAY VIEW OF THE LEICA MAGNUS 2.4 –16 x 56
CUTAWAY VIEW OF THE LEICA MAGNUS 1 – 6.3 x 24
With the new illuminated riflescopes of the Magnus series, nothing remains hidden. All three models
feature an extremely crisp, brilliant illuminated reticle dot with precisely adjustable brightness. Sixty-step
day/night mode ensures perfect light intensity. The excellent transmission and extraordinary contrast
of the Magnus optics let you take aim with confidence, even in the most challenging light conditions.
Its very wide field of view ensures you have the ideal overview, while the 6.7 x zoom factor means you enjoy
maximum flexibility. Each control element is large, ergonomic and intuitive, so you can adjust the Magnus
while wearing gloves or in complete darkness. Its intelligent on/off function helps extend battery life. The
greater distance between the exit pupil and eyepiece ensures comfortable eye relief and improved safety,
especially when using a high-calibre rifle. The eyepiece and front lens feature the AquaDura™ coating
so that water and dirt simply roll off.

LEICA MAGNUS 1.5 –10 x 42
Magnus 1.5 –10 x 42.The perfect All-Rounder.
The first rays of dawn illuminate the open savannah stretching out before you. It
reveals a large herd of gazelles. Screened behind one of the rare bushes, you observe
the impalas and the Thomson’s gazelles. Even in the pale morning light, you can

side of its white belly. Quietly, you prepare your shot.
The Magnus 1.5 –10 x 42 is particularly compact and adapts to meet every challenge.
Over long distances or at closer range, you can always rely on this riflescope. The

Magnus 2.4 –16 x 56.The Reliable Night and
Blind Scope.
It’s getting late: fiery orange colours herald the coming dusk. Well camouflaged, you sit
in your observation post behind an acacia bush. In the distance, an old kudu bull stretches
its shining, long, corkscrew horns into the sky. With its stately and noble stance, it is
completely unaware of your presence. Now, you have the time to quietly – and above all
safely – set your sights on your target.
Time is a precious commodity – particularly when in field. The Magnus 2.4 –16 x 56 gives
you valuable additional minutes. It is the brightest model in the new Magnus series and
embodies the Leica vision of the classic precision-shot riflescope for those who want to
extract the maximum from their optical equipment. The large lens, the effective entrance
pupil at medium magnifi cation and the excellent light transmission of around 91 % ensure
the best possible targeting right up until the last glimmer of light.
Thanks to its 16 x maximum zoom, the Magnus 2.4 –16 x 56 is also ideal for shots over
long distances.

Magnus Reticles and ASV.Focus on the Essential.
Thanks to Leica’s innovative projection technology, the illuminated dot in all Magnus
reticles is extremely sharp and brilliant – free of any distracting excess illumination.
Superfl uous light from the objective lens is also effectively suppressed. The sensitive
brightness control lets you choose how dim or bright you wish the illumination to be. So
you always have an overview – and you can see all the important details even in adverse
conditions. All Leica reticle designs have been developed and tested by fi eld sportsmen,
and all are located in the second focal plane.
Rifl escopes from the Magnus series can be ordered with an optional ASV fast reticle-
adjustment system.

waterbuck. Your gaze follows a herd that is approaching the waterhole. Your concentration
is unwavering. Despite the great distance, you’re confident of a clean shot.
The ER 3.5 –14 x 42 has a magnification range of up to 14 x, thus creating the ideal

In addition to binocular Geovids, the series of laser rangefinders is further
complemented by the monocular Rangemaster CRF models.
