Bringing her fabric flower pictures, inspired by the Lee Farmers Market, to the Library is something Elizabeth is very excited about. A lot of the fabric used in the pictures and sculptures are her husband’s recycled old cloth baby diapers, as well as other fabrics gleaned from the “Lee Em- porium” (Swap shop). Elizabeth hopes to inspire others to use reclaimed fabrics to make art! Elizabeth’s fiber art wall hangings and sculptures will be on display at the library September 1through October 31. Artist of the Month

The library was Elizabeth Meeker’s favorite place when she moved to

The McGregor Institute of EMS will be

teaching this American Heart Association

CPR program. The program is free, but there

is a $20 materials fee. To register, go to

First Aid

6-8 p.m.

The McGregor Institute of EMS is

offering a First Aid Certification Course. The

course teaches adult, child and infant first

aid. The program is free, but there is a $20

Story Time

Thursday mornings @10:30 a.m.

These fun 30-40 minute programs for

ages 2-6 include stories, songs, finger

plays, flannel board and a craft. Registra-

tion is not required.

Tiny Tots Lapsit

Friday mornings @ 10:30 a.m.

Join us at 10:30 a.m. on Friday mornings for a

baby/toddler lapsit! For children up to 2 years

of age, this 20 minute program offers

songs, stories and movement with

relaxed time afterwards for play and

socializing! Registration is not

required.

Snap Circuit Week

October 3-8

All Ages

Snap circuits make learning about electronics

easy and fun. Drop by during

library hours and use snap-

together components to create

a variety of different projects.

Rockin’ Readers Book Club

For 5th and 6th graders, this club meets the

first Thursday of each month from 3-4

p.m. Participants will read and discuss a

different book each month. And—pizza will

be served. Students may arrange to take

bus 6 directly to the library after school. If

interested, sign up by calling 659-2626. The

Story Trekkers

This program for grades K-4 will be held on

Tuesday afternoons from 3:30-4:30 p.m.

Children will be introduced to a variety of au-

thors and award-winning books. A snack,

games and a craft will also be

included. Mast Way students

may arrange to ride bus 22

directly to the library after

school. This program resumes

on Tuesday, October 4. Please

register by calling 659-2626.

Library Legos

Kids in grades K-4 can have fun at the library building cool stuff with Legos. Except for

October 7, November 11 and November 25, this program will be held on Fridays from 3:30-

4:30 p.m. beginning September 30 and ending December 9. A building theme will be

suggested each week. Registration is not required. Mast Way students may arrange to ride bus

22 directly to the library.

Nightime Owl Drop-In Craft

Saturday, October 22

“Hoo, hoo, hoo,” screeched the owls as they

flew through the dark and stormy night. Drop

by and make one.
