Brazil – A country of opportunities
BRAZIL-Economy
Opportunities can be available in the
following industries: a)Aerospace- Airport infrastructure (Brazil has bad airports)
b) Energy About 75 per cent of the power consumed in Brazil derives from hydroelectric sources. State-owned
companies control approximately 85 per cent of power generation, while the private sector has around 80 per cent of the distribution
utilities.
It is estimated that Brazil will need to invest about $15 billion in developing smart grids to increase the efficiency and reliability of its power
system. To keep up with its population and economic growth over the next 10 years, Brazil will also have to increase its electricity
generation capacity by 6,000 MW per year.
