Valentine’s Day Celebration Takes place on Friday, February 13th, 2015
Children will exchange Valentines with their classmates.
Name lists for each classroom will be emailed out. We
ask that parents refrain from bringing any candy or
sweets. Valentines must be brought for the entire class.
President’s Day Takes place on Monday, February 16 th, 2015
Learn and Play Montessori School will be CLOSED.
School will resume on Tuesday, February 17th. Enjoy
your three day weekend!
100th Day of School Takes place on Thursday, February 5th, 2015
On the hundredth day of school children will be working
on projects that help children learn how to count to 100.
Teachers will also have hands on activities to help
children learn the value of 100.
Did you know?
February is the month where Punxsutawney Phil, the ground hog, will leave his burrow at 7:25 a.m. February 2nd at Gobbler's Knob in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania to observe the weather conditions and look for his shadow. He will then make his prediction for the remainder of winter.
February is the International month of friendship as well!

Chinese New Year Takes place on Monday, February 19 th, 2015
According to the Chinese astrology this year is the “Year of Goat”. The Goat comes 8th in the Chinese zodiac. * Lucky Colors: brown, red, purple * Lucky Numbers: 2, 7 * Lucky Flowers: carnation, primrose * Year of Birth: 1919, 1931, 1943, 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003, 2015, 2027.

February Newsletter 2015
Birthday Celebrations Birthday celebrations are special days at Learn and Play Montessori. We invite parents to watch their
children, complete their “Walk through the Years”, with their classmates. Parents are welcome to bring in a
cake or cupcakes that are free of nuts or eggs, as we have children at school with severe allergies.
Parents are welcome to donate a book to their child’s classroom in lieu of goody bags. The birthday
celebration takes place during the morning snack time. Please notify a member of our front desk if yo u
wish to celebrate your child’s birthday at the school, or let us know if you would like us take pictures if you
are unable to join us.
Class Begins at 9:00 a.m. Bringing children to school on time allows children to participate in Job Presentation and
Montessori Activity Period. Bringing children on time also minimizes disruptions to the
classroom and allows the child to acclimatize to our daily schedule.
