Our messages early in the month are titled, “LCC: Where Cultures Meet Christ.” This is the theme for our presence at an event in downtown Lilburn on September 12. I think of the different cultures represented here: Guatemala, El Salvador, Peru, Nigeria, Trinidad and Tobago, Thailand, Vietnam, the Virgin Islands, to name just a few, and, maybe the strangest one of all, Georgia! We have all different races, ages, socio- economic backgrounds, skin colors, and languages, all together, becoming one family in Christ. He changes all of our cultures! We plan to invite people to come to LCC at this event in Lilburn, specifically to a Choir and Orchestra concert coming on September 13 at 5 pm. Also coming in September: Homecoming on the 20 th ! After the service, we’ll have our traditional covered dish meal, so we ask you to come bringing food! Tables will be decorated representing the many different cultures at LCC, so it should be a colorful meal. Remember our new Sunday schedule: Sunday School 9:30-10:15 am; Coffee and Fellowship 10:15-10:40 am; Worship 10:45-11:45 am. Thank you for being a part of our growing church family! God bless you all— Tony Beginning September 20, LCC will be participating in an exciting new Bible reading program called the “Community Bible Experience”! We are going to encourage our entire congregation to read the New Testament together in 8 weeks! A publishing company named Biblica has produced a New Testament that removes chapter and verse numbers (the way the Bible was originally written) and other things which can make the Bible look like a reference book that we would not read as much, to look like a novel or a love story that would be more easily read. These special New Testaments have the complete text of the NIV in them, so there’s been no changing of the wording of the text. Inside each NT is a card showing the readings we will be going through together during the 8 weeks. It amounts to reading 10 or so pages a day for 5 days a week; the weekends are then free for “catching up.” We will discuss what we’ve read during Sunday School classes or Small Group meetings. Our sermons will also focus on our readings. We have on hand 300 of these Bibles! I have big hopes that we’ll give these out—and more! We encourage everyone to participate with us. Go to Biblica.com/CBE-NT and check out the videos and info there. It will help you understand what we are going for. Here’s some good news: these special NT’s are free! You can’t beat that.

September Mission Spotlight

Mission Spotlight for September is on GlobalScope Spain campus ministry- Jesse & Sophie Bentley. As you know they launched En Vivo ministry in Salamanca, Spain about 10 years ago. Now they're looking to expand that ministry for university students in Valencia, which is a historic city on Spain's East coast about five hours from Salamanca. They've been praying about this for a long time (about 2 years!). We're sad that they will be leaving Salamanca but ask that you continue to pray for the person(s) who replace them.

Also: we have received thank you notes regarding that visit from Dale’s son, Joe and her brother, Larry.

Mission Trip from Lilburn to Connecticut

Rosie Bengtson, Henriette Wilke and Vicky Levy-Harrison took a road trip to Southington, CT in July to personally deliver the art supplies that we collected for Dale Brock during our Goodfriends Game Night earlier this year. The cash donated was given to her son, Joe, for future purchases. Please note: Dale has given one of her paintings (The Frog) to the Ladies class. It will be displayed in that classroom with some photos that were taken during the road trip.

July 30th - I would appreciate it if you would express my undying gratitude to the women from the church, whoever they are, who made the trip to CT to see my sister Dale Brock. LCC is the reason she stepped back up close to the Lord where she belonged. We were there to visit her on a Sunday and she brought us to LCC, her first time and our first time. She fell in love with the people and the Lord again. Since her unfortunate circumstances have occurred I know that you have never forgotten her. Thank you again. Today we received a picture in the mail of a cardinal that she had painted, left handed, and a note from her son, Joe, telling us that the ladies had been there. Again, please tell those ladies how grateful I am for their ministry to my sister. Larry Settle

July 8th - Mom was very emotional after you left last night. She was so happy to see you and so sad to see you go. Thank you so very much for making the long trip and bringing the art supplies. You, Vickie and Henriette really made a difference yesterday. Please let the rest of the congregation know how much we appreciate their support. You have a very special thing going on at LCC. Thank you for allowing me to see your congregation at work. It was a powerful experience. Much love - Joe

LCC Choir, Orchestra and some dedicated members took a road trip North to help Whistleville Christian Church open their newly renovated Sanctuary. They are very excited about the work they are doing in their community.

There were 7 different churches represented on the stage and at least a dozen in the audience.  We were all there because WE BELIEVE that THERE IS POWER in the blood and WE LOVE TO TELL THE STORY.

It was an awesome worship service.

LCC Music Ministry“Reaching the World for Jesus One Note at a Time”

The C&O took some time out from from their busy schedule to enjoy some fun time with fellowship, food and entertainment at Medieval Time on Aug. 8. We had 72 people participate.

We only have 1 prayer beeper given out at this time. Please continue to send up prayers on their behalf, and then send them a ‘beep’ so they are surrounded by our love and prayers. They don’t know who is praying for them at any given moment and they say the prayer beeper goes off at all hours, but they still appreciate every one of them…. Dotty Fulgham 770-929-5114

If any of these listed on our prayer list need to be taken off, please contact the church office. We appreciate your help.

As many of you have read in the weekly updates, the Lilburn Cooperative has been blessed with some great publicity through television interviews.  These appearances have resulted in many contributions that have helped the Co-op fill their shelves in many areas.  This will be a blessing for a matter of weeks until a new cause celeb surfaces.  At Lilburn Christian Church, we provide stability for the Co-op.  We provide food on an on-going and consistent basis.  We can take pride in that fact.  As we continue with our weekly contributions, we will continue to provide that stability for the Lilburn Cooperative Ministry.  Remember to check your flyers and take advantage of the BOGO offers.  See you in church. Steve Perry

Join us for an unforgettable journey through the New Testament!

Beginning September 20

Here’s a revolutionary idea: let’s actually read the Bible. Whole books. In community. It’s more doable than you think. For eight weeks, LCC will explore the New Testament together. We’ll read five days a week and share the journey in weekly Sunday School classes, small group gatherings, and Sermons. We’ll immerse ourselves in every word of the New Testament understanding it in context, experiencing it in community.
