Thanks for seeing the opportunity this selection software represents.

The Laying Game, is a selection software only, it will not place the bets it sole purpose is provides

horse selections, for horses running in the UK and Ireland.

IMPORTANT!

These horses are NOT expected to win the race. These are LAY BETTING selections.

OK, so remember all horses that the software produces are to be Lay bet.

Firstly this is a simple selection software, that’s updated at 5.30am UK time, after that time the days

selections are available.

Once you open the software, best to wait a few seconds before you hit the scan button, as it gives it

a chance to connect with our database.

Once you hit scan you will see a green line move across the top, indicating the download is in

progress.

The only two operations you need to perform is to hit the Scan (1) button, and once the selections

are display (see below), if you have Microsoft office or excel, then you can save the selections (csv

file), and you can print them off if you wish.

There is of course no need to save them you can simple put the selections into Betfair or your

favoured bot, and then close the Laying Game software.

Page 3: Laying Game User Guide Game User Guide with BE.pdf · Laying Game User Guide Plus “The Bet Engine” Set Up Instructions. Thanks for seeing the opportunity this selection software

Once it has finished you will be left with all the selections of the day displayed, don’t forget to scroll

down, as most days there will be selections that are not showing on the open window, so scroll

down.

Believe it that is the easy part of the Laying Game strategy.

Like everything in life, there are ways that work better than others, like a chain saw in the hands of

one person can be devastating, yet in the hands of another can create fantastic wood carvings.

As to with Laying Game (not as dramatic of course), the selections all have one thing in common, we

expect them not to win, our software sees other horses that pose a big threat to them. You will find

most of our selections are favourites, and are short price in the market.

Now originally back in 2012 when we first released the software, we looked only at the win

regardless of prices, and that was not the right way, it still made money, however we were leaving a

lot on the table. With more research and adjustment, we have got the software you have today.

I will only talk on two ways to use the selections, they are the two I use and represent the best

return on risk.

Now, before I tell you them, there is one very important thing, and that is the bank (money you are

prepared to lose), yes that is right, you must already consider that money gone.

That way, you are under no pressure and believe me your life will be much better thinking that way.

Page 4: Laying Game User Guide Game User Guide with BE.pdf · Laying Game User Guide Plus “The Bet Engine” Set Up Instructions. Thanks for seeing the opportunity this selection software

Of course we don’t want to lose it.

Now, if you are like me (heaven forbid), and are not in favour of following the races in front of the PC

and TV, then you have two choices. And they make a huge difference to the bank you will need.

1. Use Betfair Starting Prices (BFSP), this means you need a lot bigger bank that option 2. This is

because you will need to place all your bets at once, and as you do Betfair takes that money

out of your wallet, so say 25 bets win lays, at £10 liability, would mean you have had £250

taken out of your wallet (boo hoo), plus once you make an BFSP bet you CAN NOT cancel or

change.

So imagine you also want to place 25 place lays also, yes you guessed it another, £250

whamo out of your wallet (account).

So that is £500, frozen until the races start and you slowly get funds release as the races go

by.

Now that is fine if you have the money, but remember £10 is the minimum if your account is

in UK pounds, if like me it is in Australian $, then minimum BFSP bet is $30.00 so that is

$1,500 to cover the 50 bets. And in Euro it maybe 20 euros not sure.

Plus one other major problem, is in laying BFSP, you can set an upper odds limit, but not a

lower one. So that is once again not the best to get the very best returns.

The only big pluses are you get the bets on and you don’t need to watch the races, or leave

your computer on, and no risk of power cuts internet drop outs.

So, that is one way to use the selections.

2. Use a betting software (bot), yes you will have to pay for it, but the BIG plus you can use a

lot smaller bank, there get the opportunity to increase your stakes earlier as you only tie up

funds for one maybe two races at a time, so that would be at £10 liability a race, £40 max.

Now isn’t that better than £500?

So you can see the small cost of paying for a bot, is worth it, plus the fact that you can also

set the odds only you are prepared to accept. Also you can set that certain other horses

must start in order to make your selection a bet, so if a hot favourite is a non runner, and

you have that ticked as a must run, you bet will not be actioned.

If you can not follow the races, then I strongly suggest you use a betting bot, and I

recommend the Bet Engine, mainly it is not expensive and most of all it is easy to setup and

put the selections into. Plus it can be set up on a VPS (virtual Private server), so you don’t

have to leave your computer on all the time and if there are power cuts etc, your bet engine

will still work.

If you have GHB, then not need to change, but if you don’t have a betting bot, look at Bet

Engine Click Here (to get free trial)

At the end of the manual you will find out more on the Bet Engine.

Page 5: Laying Game User Guide Game User Guide with BE.pdf · Laying Game User Guide Plus “The Bet Engine” Set Up Instructions. Thanks for seeing the opportunity this selection software

Right, onto how best to use the selections.

Best Option To Bet Selections.

First off you bet All Selections in the Win Lay market, regardless of odds, is NOT advisable.

The best approach will be highlighted in the results page that you see below this.

You can always see results here http://www.layinggame.com/results.htm

ALWAYS LOOK AT RTR rating to see the best option.

The higher the RTR the better.

RTR, as I said is the return on risk, so 10% means for every £1.00 you risk you are making 10p every

time, that is very good, believe me.

But, there is a better way, and that is the one I use, it is the best RTR and makes a nice profit.

Another good thing with higher RTR’s you can risk more as you have less selections.

If your RTR is 5% and you bet (risk) 5000, you will win £250.

Now if the RTR is 10% and you bet 2500 you will win £250 (you have risked 2,500 to make the same)

Let’s go nuts, RTR 20% and you bet 5000, you will win £1,000 (you have risked 5,000 to £1,000).

If you are not sure on the difference between Liability staking and staking, here is a brief run down.

In Laying, unlike backing you can lose more than your stake ( You stake £10 on Horse A, that is

paying (3.50-1)) the horse wins the race, you lose you bet, so you staked £10, you keep that, but you

need to pay out £25.00 to the other person, so you staked £10, but lost £25.00. That is Staking.

If we won the above bet we would get £10.00 less commission.

Liability Staking, it is where you put up how much you are prepared to lose if the bet fails you.

So if in the case of Horse A paying £3.50, and you had a liability bet of £10, that is your total risk, if

the horse wins the race and you lose that bet, you lose £10.00 not £25.00

The downside is on the other side, what you win. In the case let’s work it out:

Liability: £10, odds 3.50, (odds-1) =2.50 payout per £1

So on £10 liability divide by £2.50 = £4.00 (less commission) is what we will win if the bet is

successful.

Bet Engine Settings for Laying Game Place Lay odds 2.00 to

4.00 Example only, not recommended. Place laying is not

showing the RTR we would like, this may change if it does,

you will see it in the results page on the website.

This is the instruction to enter the selections manually into the Bet Engine.

Step1

Set a tab at the top to store the settings in. Any tab will do and then Name it. Make sure Horse

Racing is checked.

If you opted for the free trial you will only have two tabs labelled sys1 and sys 2. This is enough for

the two methods to be used.

I have called it LG2-4place.

Step 2

Set the setting for country, and place.

Page 7: Laying Game User Guide Game User Guide with BE.pdf · Laying Game User Guide Plus “The Bet Engine” Set Up Instructions. Thanks for seeing the opportunity this selection software

Check, UK and Ireland, Flat, NH, AW and Place. Plus Hcap, Non Hcap, and Number of Places to 2 and

5.

Step 3

Set to manual, this is so you can manually add the bets in before racing starts. Using CSV file is

classed as manual loading.

Set to Manual, and odds.

OK, now we need to set the criteria for the horses.

First tab under horses is Favs, we don’t use it, leave as below.

Page 8: Laying Game User Guide Game User Guide with BE.pdf · Laying Game User Guide Plus “The Bet Engine” Set Up Instructions. Thanks for seeing the opportunity this selection software

Step 4

Next tab is Criteria, this is where we set most of the information.

The odds are set at 2.00 to 4.00.

On runners, we record every race regardless of runners, I personally set mine to 5. Minimum

Runners.

One other setting you may want to use for the case of non runners being declare, you could make

the Max RF% to say 20, this means if a hot horse is not running and the Reduction Factor is more

than 20% your bet will not be place, this is a personal choice, once again you don’t use this when

recording the results.

Set the Min and Max odds, 2.00 and 4.00, leave the min runners at 1 and max at 50.

Step 5

Ranges leave blank

Page 9: Laying Game User Guide Game User Guide with BE.pdf · Laying Game User Guide Plus “The Bet Engine” Set Up Instructions. Thanks for seeing the opportunity this selection software

Step 6

Filters, Tick Male, Female, Age 2-20, Weight 98-181, Contains check all 5 boxes, C, CD, D, BF and No

Flag.

Step 7

Leave as is.

Page 10: Laying Game User Guide Game User Guide with BE.pdf · Laying Game User Guide Plus “The Bet Engine” Set Up Instructions. Thanks for seeing the opportunity this selection software

Step 8

Bet set for 20s, if you are betting before the off, this way you can get some selections that BFSP will

miss and vice versa, it is the one I use.

Or you can use BFSP, you cannot set a lower end in our case we want the horses priced 2.00 which

cannot be set using BFSP, so if you want to use the 2.00 to 4.00 range, you CAN NOT use BFSP

option.

Step 9

Leave as is.

Step 10

Check the Betfair settled button.

Page 11: Laying Game User Guide Game User Guide with BE.pdf · Laying Game User Guide Plus “The Bet Engine” Set Up Instructions. Thanks for seeing the opportunity this selection software

Step 11

Leave it as is.

Step 12

To either liability (I prefer) or level. And check Adjust for Commission. Set stake and liability.

You need the Bet Type to display “LAY”, in order to see the laying staking options.

Page 12: Laying Game User Guide Game User Guide with BE.pdf · Laying Game User Guide Plus “The Bet Engine” Set Up Instructions. Thanks for seeing the opportunity this selection software

Don’t worry about the rest.

Page 13: Laying Game User Guide Game User Guide with BE.pdf · Laying Game User Guide Plus “The Bet Engine” Set Up Instructions. Thanks for seeing the opportunity this selection software

Step 13

Now save the settings, so you don’t have to repeat it every time. And save it in the folder offered.

OK, now close the Bet Engine, and reopen it.

Step 14

Selected Tab you setup.

Double click on the Tab to name it.

Allow the races to load up, may take a few minutes.

Page 14: Laying Game User Guide Game User Guide with BE.pdf · Laying Game User Guide Plus “The Bet Engine” Set Up Instructions. Thanks for seeing the opportunity this selection software

Now you can enter you selections, scroll through

To the race that you have the first selection in.

Check the left hand box of the horse that is the laying game selection. (Don’t worry about the MR

box, this is for horses that must run).

And you continue to do this through all the races, until complete.

Only takes a few minutes.

Step 15

Now all you need is start the Bet Engine, (remember you need to leave your computer on.)

Page 15: Laying Game User Guide Game User Guide with BE.pdf · Laying Game User Guide Plus “The Bet Engine” Set Up Instructions. Thanks for seeing the opportunity this selection software

This is showing as staking set to liability. Live means it is not in test mode, and Lay means we are

laying selections.

So it needs to display as above, with the ACTIVE button Green.

And you have the PINK LAY selected also.

You can load up CSV files if you prefer.

More below on setting up with CSV file, (that Laying Game produces).

Setting for Place Lay 1.25 to 1.75 (All you need to do is

adjust the odds for different odds brackets.

Place betting is not really recommended, however look at

the results page.

Only TWO changes to the settings are min odds goes to 1.25 and maximum odds are 1.75 max and

the Country is set to UK only.

Make sure you have the place ticked as it is always by default set to win.

Page 16: Laying Game User Guide Game User Guide with BE.pdf · Laying Game User Guide Plus “The Bet Engine” Set Up Instructions. Thanks for seeing the opportunity this selection software

Also best to have a minimum runners at 4 at least.

And Country set to UK.

Setting for Win Lay 2.00 to 10.00 (not recommended)

The only changes you need to make from the Place 2-4 settings are the following:

1. Events Tab, Market Type has Win Ticked

2. Criteria Tab, Make sure the odds are set at 2.00 Min. and 10.00 Max. I set mine to minimum

5 runners, however we report all races regardless of runners in the result pages.

Page 17: Laying Game User Guide Game User Guide with BE.pdf · Laying Game User Guide Plus “The Bet Engine” Set Up Instructions. Thanks for seeing the opportunity this selection software

The new updated LAYING GAME now looks like below, set up ready to load straight into Bet Engine.

It has the Date, Time, Course, Horse Name.

You need either Excel (Microsoft Office), or you can download Open Office and that has an equal to

excel, Open office is free, just google it to get the download.

The save file from Laying Game is a CSV file and that will load into Bet Engine. There are a few

reasons why it sometimes will not load up:

1. You must save as CSV file and you must close the file, Bet Engine cannot open an open file.

2. That a horse has an apostrophe (‘ ) in it’s name, that will have to be removed in some cases.

3. You have saved the CSV with dots in the file name save like this 7-7-2014 or 7/4/2014 NOT

7.4.2014
